Is it all a perfect illusion? Lady Gaga took to Twitter on Sunday, November 6, to call out Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's wife, Melania Trump, for her hypocritical bullying stance.
"To say u will stand for 'anti-bullying' is hypocrisy," the 30-year-old pop star tweeted. "Your husband is 1 of the most notorious bullies we have ever witnessed."
In a followup tweet, Gaga shared a photo of herself holding an absentee ballot while posing in a "Hillary for President" sweater. "@realDonaldTrump you divided us with hateful language & fear," she captioned the picture. "I love everyone in this country and I vote for @HillaryClinton to unite us."
. @realDonaldTrump you divided us with hateful language & fear . I love everyone in this country and I vote for @HillaryClinton to unite us.
The "Million Reasons" singer's comments come just three days after Melania, 46, delivered a speech at Donald's campaign rally in Philadelphia, where the Slovenia native said one of her first objectives as first
"Like anything that is powerful, [social media] can have a bad side," Melania said on Thursday, November 3. "Children and teenagers can be fragile. They're hurt when they're made fun of or made to feel less in looks or intelligence. This makes their life hard and can force them to hide and retreat. Our culture has gotten too mean and too rough, especially to children and teenagers. ... We have to find a better way to talk to each other, to disagree with each other, to respect each other."
Throughout his presidential campaign, Donald, 70, has regularly used his Twitter account to share controversial messages attacking women, illegal immigrants and fellow politicians including Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and primary opponent Senator Ted Cruz's wife, Heidi Cruz.
Gaga — who cofounded the Born This Way Foundation with her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, in 2011 to "build a braver, kinder world" for young people — also spoke out against Donald while promoting her new album, Joanne, in Japan last week.
"Because I am a celebrity, I have insight into the type of person that Donald Trump is," the entertainer explained on a Japanese talk show. "The truth is that we celebrities know that he is an actor, and that this is an act. So, we are standing with Hillary not just because she is far superior as the choice for president, but we are also standing with her because it would be a complete disaster to elect someone that is essentially a political impostor."
