Haynes, 27, a mom of two boys from San Diego, called being a surrogate a “humbling” experiencein a promotional video for the surrogate program Family Creations.
Haynes, whose husband is in the military, had been a surrogate mom before, in 2014. “This is not her first surrogate rodeo,” an insider said. “La’Reina was a surrogate for a couple from Los Angeles. The first surrogate [procedure] was a success immediately.
According to a source, Haynes “never did this for the money.” As reported, the surrogate mom was pocketing around a paltry $75,000 to carry Kardashian and West’s baby.
Haynes was secretly approached about becoming a surrogate mom for a mysterious celebrity couple, which later turned out to be Kardashian, 37, and 40-year-old West. “At the time she did not know who it was, but not once did she ask for more money, knowing they could afford it,” said the source.
“She just wanted to bless someone’s family with the gift of a child,” added the source of Haynes, noting the surrogate “is a very caring person.” Kardashian and West are already parents to North, 4, and 2-year-old Saint.
Haynes, who explained she wanted another family to “have the joy that I’ve been able to producing my own family,” has promoted surrogacy in the past, and she became a virtual poster-mom for Family Creations.
The company’s CEO, Julia Alkire, personally recommended Haynes to Kardashian and West due to the woman’s previous experience and success as a surrogate.
Haynes’ mom also said that “everything went well” with the birth in Los Angeles. “As a matter of fact, [La’Reina] is at home resting.”
“We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care,” Kardashian gushed of Haynes following the birth. According to a teaser for the next episode of KUWTK, the mom of three will discuss her surrogate more in depth in the coming weeks.
