Following news that several Wendy Williams staff members were released after the whole HBCU/NAACP debacle, it is now being reported that execs also want WW’s husband and manager Kevin Hunter axed from the daytime talk show – and Wendy’s allegedly down with giving her hubby the boot!
Kevin’s domineering presence as The Wendy Williams Show’s executive producer has reportedly been making the entire crew, including his wife, absolutely “miserable.”
“Show execs want her husband/manager fired from the show. Wendy is in full support of his exit amid their major marital problems. Things have gotten so bad that she is seriously considering filing for divorce,” a source tells Love B. Scott.
Big Kev, as Wen refers to him, has been an EP on the show since its inception in 2008.
Back in 2013, a staff member from the daytime Emmy nominated show told New York Daily News, “Kevin makes all the decisions and has become more and more controlling as the show has become a success. He insists that all show questions be run by him.”
The insider reveals that Kevin allegedly had Wendy change her cell number so staffers aren’t able to access the 52-year-old host.
Things have reportedly gotten so out of hand, producers were warned that all scripts, segment ideas, and guest bookings must be approved by Kevin before Wendy is even allowed to see or read them.
The couple, who have been married for 19 years, co-own Wendy Williams Productions and serve as executive producers on the hit show. They also share a teenage son, Kevin Jr.
With Wendy’s marriage reportedly on the line, the entire ordeal sounds like it’s going to be a huge mess – especially since the syndication has been renewed into the year 2020. That's certainly a long time to be “miserable.”
We really hope they’re able to work things out.
