Making it a family business. Kanye West just announced on Wednesday, September 7, that he has signed his sister-in-law Kylie Jenner's boyfriend, Tyga, to his G.O.O.D. record label.
The rapper revealed the news at a pop-up show at NYC's Highline Ballroom following his Yeezy Season 4 fashion show, telling attendees that he'd also signed Desiigner to his label.
Fans and other commenters quickly chimed in on Twitter about the news, with some pointing out that the "Rack City" rapper has his girlfriend to thank for this new career opportunity, but Tyga and West do have a history together — the "Famous" rapper executive produced Tyga's 2015 release The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.
Others pointed out that it's just the latest act of generosity from the teen makeup maven, who bought Tyga a Bentley after his Ferrari was repossessed at the end of August.
Jenner, 19, showed off her magnanimous gift on Snapchat, revealing that the surprise was nearly wrecked after photos surfaced of her shopping for a new car.
"The blogs almost ruined it and said me and T were at the Bentley dealership when really it was only me," Jenner said on August 31. "And I had to lie to T and say, 'I have no idea, T, what the story is. I was not at a Bentley dealership.' But I was!"
The next Snapchat video showed the rapper, 26, dancing and jumping for joy in front of the Bentley Bentayga, worth at least $229,100.
Earlier this summer Tyga was hit with a $480,000 judgment by his former landlord for falling behind in rent on his old Malibu home.
Twitter commenters were quick to express their opinions about Tyga's change of fortune on Wednesday night.
"If Tyga messes up on Kylie, it's really a wrap for him," wrote one. "Buying him cars, getting him signed to her brother-in-law's label. She's his mother."
Others were excited about the news.
"Tyga music about to improve just watch," wrote another.
