Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton called his shot during the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers at Bank of America Stadium.
With roughly six minutes to play in the opening frame, the Carolina offense lined up at the Green Bay 7-yard line.
Newton noticed something in the Packers defense, and he talked some trash before receiving the snap.
"You’ve been watching film, huh?" he said to an opponent while flashing a smile. "That's cool. Watch this."
The 2015 NFL MVP then connected with running back Christian McCaffrey for the contest's opening score:
