Pete Davidson Was ‘100 Percent There’ for Ariana Grande After Her Ex Mac Miller’s Death

A shoulder to lean on. After Ariana Grande’s ex-boyfriend Mac Miller died in September from a suspected overdose at age 26, the pop star turned to her then-fiancé, Pete Davidson, for support.“Pete was 100 percent there for Ariana,” a source tells NEWS exclusively.Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City on August 20, 2018.Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

Even though Grande, 25, had Davidson, 24, to dry her tears, she realized that their whirlwind romance proved to be too much, too soon. The couple had started seeing each other in May, just one month after the songstress’ split from Miller, whom she dated for two years.

In June, NeWS broke the news of Grande and Davidson’s engagement, but they decided to call it off earlier this month.

“She was not ready to be a in a relationship and she saw that,” the source tells NEWS. “Ariana pulled the plug, and then they decided to cool things off for a while.”The Grammy nominee and the Saturday Night Live star “were trying to figure things out for a bit,” according to the source, but they “never had any set wedding plans.”

When they were together, Grande and Davidson did not shy away from documenting their love story on Instagram. She took a break from the spotlight after their breakup and Miller’s death, while the comedian wiped all posts from his account, canceled multiple scheduled stand-up appearances and even changed his phone number.“Pete is still really depressed, but he knows that right now this is the right decision,” a second insider tells Us. “While Pete loves Ariana, he knows she needs her space. Pete and Ariana are really hoping for the best for each other.”

Another source told NeWS earlier this month that Miller’s death “put a tremendous amount of strain” on Grande and Davidson’s relationship

These Are Wendy Williams' Saltiest Clapbacks: From Megyn Kelly to Ariana Grande

Wendy Williams tells it like it is.

The talk show host is known for being no-holds-barred when it comes to discussing pop culture or other subjects on her show. Her discussion with Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday was no different.

On Tuesday, Megyn Kelly made a comment about blackface during her show Megyn Kelly Today, and the statement received immediate backlash. "What is racist? You get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on black face on Halloween, or a black person that puts on white face for Halloween," she said on her show. "It was okay when I was a kid as long as you were dressing like a character."

Kelly later apologized for her opinion, but her remark about blackface still drew some ire from others on Wednesday. A few hours after her show, the host released an email statement about it and apologized for it again during her show on Wednesday. "I realize now that such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry," she said in an email to NBC colleagues.

"The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep," she continued. "I've never been a 'pc' kind of person — but I understand that we do need to be more sensitive in this day and age."

Wendy Williams brought it up on her show The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday and commented why she was so shocked to hear Kelly make these types of comments.

Take a look at the list below of some of Williams' best rebuttals yet.

MEGYN KELLY

On Oct. 23, the Megyn Kelly Today host asked, "What is racist?" when it comes to people wearing blackface. On Oct. 24, Williams said on her show during a discussion with Rev. Al Sharpton, "Excuse me. This is such a basic thing for such an educated woman to know," she said. "She was lying."

Williams added, "It's shocking when it comes from such an educated woman with such a prime spot."

THAT EMMYS SNUB

Williams was snubbed from receiving a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award, and she was not pleased about it. She told Elle, "Who's a better talk show host?! Don't have one! Don't have one! Will probably never get one. But it's okay. You know why? Because I've got the power of the people.

BECKY WITH THE GOOD HAIR?

On her Lemonade album, Beyonce referenced a mysterious woman named "Becky with the good hair". Some people thought "Becky" was actually designer Rachel Roy, who has repeatedly denied having an affair with Jay-Z. which she has continuously denied.

In 2016, Williams commented on the affair and mentioned that she thought Roy was in on the game. "So Rachel Roy, first of all, you're not this fighting girl," Williams commented. "Unless you're on Jay Z and Beyoncé's payroll, and they pay you to mix it up for I guess sales for the Lemonade."

OH BROTHER

On Sept. 18, Julie Chen announced she was leaving The Talk as one of the co-hosts in order to "spend more time at home with my husband and our young son." Her husband is former CBS CEO Les Moonves, who resigned after a series of sexual assault allegations.

Chen was emotional and tearful during the announcement, which Williams commented on. "In my opinion, she wasn't crying because of the cast and the crew and the staff and stuff. She was crying because now she has to go back to that compound and deal with that man and try to keep her son out of it. And there is no compound to me that is big enough," she said.

NO SWEETENER ADDED

In 2015, Williams received some backlash of her own when she made comments about Ariana Grande's appearance. "She's 21. She'll forever look 12," she said. "And I don't mean that in a good way. It's nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young and then you're short—she's only like 4'11". I don't look at her as, like, a woman."

THE OLD TAYLOR CAN'T COME TO THE PHONE

Williams is fully "Out of the Woods" when it comes to her feelings about Taylor Swift. In 2016, the host spoke out about Swift's former relationship with actor Tom Hiddleston. "Taylor Swift is just not that interesting to me," she said. "Here's the thing, she's trying to trick us into thinking she's a good woman because she bakes and cooks and it's actually working right now on Instagram."

And we know there will be plenty more "hot topics" with Williams.

Pete Davidson Reveals‘ a Lot Has Been Going On’ After Ariana Grande Split

Addressing his breakup head-on. Pete Davidson didn’t shy away from speaking about his split from Ariana Grande while performing at the Judd and Pete for America benefit at Largo at the Coronet in West Hollywood on Saturday, October 20.
In fact, Davidson, 24, addressed the elephant in the room right away, saying, “I think you could tell I didn’t want to be here … There’s a lot going on.”

The TV personality and the “Breathin'” singer called off their engagement in mid-October after just four months.
Days prior, Student Activities at Temple University told Us Weekly that the comedian canceled an October 17 show at the college. “Pete Davidson has pulled out of his appearance here, last minute, due to personal reasons.”
Judd Apatow praised his cohost’s presence on stage Saturday, saying, “You came out. You came out.”
“Well, you put me on the flyer,” Davidson responded.

The SNL star, who shared Grande’s mult-imillion dollar NYC apartment, also joked about his current living arrangements after a fan created a GoFundMe titled, “Pete Davidson Homeless.”
“Anybody have any open rooms?” he said. “I’m looking for a roommate.”
The Wild ‘N Out alum was “not too down” and “laughing at some of his own jokes,” a source told Us. He gave further insight into his current mental state when an audience member interrupted him to ask about DBT, a.k.a. dialectical behavior therapy (the same type of treatment Selena Gomez is currently receiving).
“This is what they tell you when you have mental illness … they go, ‘Oh, you’re sad? Hold onto a pack of ice.’ Nobody knows what the f–k they’re doing … I’m f–king paying $2,000 dollars a session to hold f–king ice cubes,” he told the crowd. “They’re like, ‘Yeah, you’re sad. Go listen to music.’ ‘Oh, thanks! Never thought of that.’”
He continued, “They’re like, ‘When you’re sad, you should distract yourself … all that stuff is bullshit … The only reason why I do all that stuff is so that way [like I], in my head, I’m like, ‘Well, I did it.’ I know it’s not gonna work, but I tried.”
Still, as the jokester told the audience, he’s not too sad for a little self-love: “You ever have the feeling, you’re so sad you can’t [masturbate?] … that hasn’t happened to me.”
Davidson also made light of his now-famous tattoos of his ex-fianceé’s name. “I was like … I’m not stupid.’ And tonight [my friend and I] were in my kitchen and he was like, ‘Yo, bro. Turns out, you were stupid.'”

Pete Davidson Is "Focusing on Himself Alone " and "Doing Fine" After Ariana Grande Split

Pete Davidson is slowly but surely making his way back into the public eye.
The Saturday Night Live cast member was seen taking a walk outside on Wednesday, keeping it low key in a matching black Ecko tracksuit. It's the first time he's been spotted since he and Ariana Grande broke up and called off their engagement. There's no word yet as to who is keeping their $16 million New York City apartment. A source close to Davidson told E! News he's "staying with family in New York right now."
The source provided some insight as to how the comedian is coping with the end of his engagement and who he's leaning on for support. "Pete's doing fine," the insider told E! News. "He has a strong support system of family and friends around him that are keeping him laughing."
They added, "While Pete's focusing on himself, he always wishes the best for Ari."
Davidson is stepping out one day after Grande made her own public debut since the split. The "No Tears Left to Cry" singer appeared at the taping of NBC's A Very Wicked Halloween, which is a tribute to the famous Broadway musical's 15th anniversary. She performed a song and was decked out in green makeup, jewelry and clothing.
According to the source, Davidson was "happy" that Grande performed in the Wicked special. "That was always a dream of hers," the insider said.
According to other insiders, Grande gave him back her $100,000 engagement ring, but she did keep their pet pig, Piggy Smalls. She referred to the animal in a tweet as her "emotional support pig."
Grande's makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic posted a video of her singing at the Wicked taping, and other than her lack of a ring, she also covered up one of here Davidson-inspired tattoos. Grande had "Pete" inked on her left ring finger, but she wore a Band-Aid over it.
Based on photos, it seems like Davidson has not covered up the "AG" tattoo on his thumb.
On Tuesday night, the singer addressed the breakup for the first time. She insinuated in a note on her Instagram story that she was going to take a break from social media, although she later deleted the note. "time to say bye bye to the internet for just a lil bit. it's hard not to bump news n stuff that i'm not tryna to see rn," she typed. "it's very sad and we're all tryin very hard to keep goin. love u. and thank u for bein here always."

Her social media accounts are still active.
Grande has remained out of the public eye since the passing of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. She did not attend the 2018 Emmys in order to "take some much needed time to heal and mend." Similarly, she dropped out of performing at a gala on Oct. 13. The insider told E! News that Miller's death had a huge impact on Grande and Davidson. They told E! News, "Their relationship was complicated and while they made each other happy, the passing of her ex-boyfriend weighed heavily on the two of them."
Another source disclosed to E! News earlier, "Pete has really been there for Ariana and she will always have a special place in her heart for him, but told him that right now is not the best time."
She is "truly hurting from the death of Mac and feels very overwhelmed with her life right now," the second source added. "Ariana hasn't given herself enough time for the grieving and healing process, and feels like her emotions are out of control."
A third insider shared at an earlier time that Grande has been "completely overwhelmed and wants to slow down."

Earlier in the day, the pop star taped a performance of “The Wizard and I” for the upcoming NBC special A Very Wicked Halloween. Her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic shared a clip from the set on Instagram, which revealed Grande took off the diamond engagement ring that Davidson, 24, gave her in June.
“today was v special and i’m so grateful i was able to be there,” she added on her Instagram Story after writing that she “almost let my anxiety ruin this for me.”

Us Weekly confirmed on Sunday, October 14, that Grande and Davidson called off their four-month engagement. A source told Us, “They realized it happened too quick and too early. The wedding is off, but they’re working things out. They’re not officially done yet.”

The Grammy nominee returned to work on Tuesday, but the Saturday Night Livestar is still taking time for himself. He canceled a scheduled stand-up comedy appearance at Temple University in Philadelphia “due to personal reasons” and has since been replaced by actor Adam Devine.
In addition to the breakup, Grande has also been dealing with the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. The 26-year-old rapper died on September 7 from a suspected drug overdose.

Ariana Grande is taking a break from social media Amidst Pete Davidson split: 'It's very sad'

Ariana Grande is taking a break from social media.

Just two days after it was revealed that the 25-year-old singer and Pete Davidson have called off their engagement, Grande announced an internet hiatus.

“Ok today was v special and i’m so grateful i was able to be there,” Grande said in a post on her Instagram Stories, which has since been deleted in reference to Tuesday’s taping of NBC’s A Very Wicked Halloween.

“Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a lil bit,” Grande continued. “It’s hard not to bump news n stuff that I’m not trying to see rn. It’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep going. love u. and thank u for bein here always,” Grande added.

The announcement comes just a few hours after Grande spoke candidly about her “anxiety” in a different Instagram Stories post.

“Can’t believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!” the singer captioned a photo of herself, which showed off her makeup, specifically her green lip shade.

“Not today Satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d— finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye,” Grande added.

Wicked’s 15th-anniversary special will air on NBC later this month.

Grande and Davidson, 24, ended their engagement after four months together. “It was way too much too soon,” a Grande source told TMZ . “It’s not shocking to anyone.”

Sources close to the couple told TMZ that the decision to split was a mutual choice, as both the “God Is a Woman” singer and the Saturday Night Live star felt the timing wasn’t right.

The couple’s split comes after Grande has endured a difficult few weeks as she came to terms with the loss of former boyfriend Mac Miller, who died from an apparent drug overdose on Sept. 7. After venting about her emotional exhaustion to her Twitter followers, the star took some much-needed time off.

Pete Davidson Cancelled His Comedy Gig After Ariana Grande Split as She's Seen Without Ring

Pete Davidson backed out of a previously scheduled comedy gig just days after his split from Ariana Grande.

The Saturday Night Live star was set to headline a “Comedy Night Live” show at Temple University in Philadelphia on Wednesday. The school announced on Tuesday that Davidson, 24, had canceled and would be replaced by Adam DeVine.

“Unfortunately, Pete Davidson will no longer be able to do our homecoming show due to personal reasons,” the school said in a statement.

The news comes as Grande, 25, returned to work on Tuesday, performing “The Wizard and I” during the final taping of Wicked’s 15th anniversary special, which will air on NBC later this month.

“Can’t believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!” Grande wrote on her Instagram story. “Not today Satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more u can suck my big green d— finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye.”

Noticeably missing on Grande’s left ring finger was the 3-carat, $93,000 pear-shaped diamond engagement ring Davidson proposed to her with in June after just weeks of dating.

Ipresstv confirmed on Sunday that Davidson and Grande had called it quits.

“It was way too much too soon,” a Grande source told ipresstv. “It’s not shocking to anyone.”

The breakup came on the heels of a difficult few weeks for Grande as she came to terms with the loss of former boyfriend Mac Miller, who died from an apparent drug overdose on Sept. 7.

“They’re dealing with things that people wouldn’t have to deal with in a lifetime — an ex-boyfriend reportedly overdosing and having all of this fame and attention,” a Davidson source told IPRESSTV. “These followers and living their lives on social media … it’s a different world.”

“It’s definitely a fresh breakup,” the source added. “But they totally could get back together because who knows with those two.”

Grande appeared emotional as she performed some of her hits, including "Break Free."
"I love you Manchester," she yelled to the crowd.
Grande wore a white sweatshirt with "One Love Manchester" written on it. She also performed "Better Days" with Victoria Monét and sang "Where is the Love" with the Black Eyed Peas.
There were tears as Grande performed her song"My Everything" with the Parrs Wood High School Choir. The choir's cover of the song quickly went viral after they performed it in tribute to the Manchester bombing victims.
Grande thanked those in attendance.
"I want to thank you so much for coming together and being so loving and strong," she said. "I love you guys so much and I think that the kind of love and unity that you're displaying is the medicine the world really needs right now."
She also paid tribute to 15-year-old fan Olivia Campbell who lost her life in the attack, and she recounted a conversation she had with the girl's mother.
"She told me Olivia would have wanted to hear the hits," Grande said, before launching into her popular song "Side to Side."
The crowd went wild when Justin Bieber showed up, with a guitar, to perform an acoustic version of his song "Love Yourself."
"What an amazing thing we're doing tonight, would you agree," Bieber said. "Would you agree that love always wins?"
The singer appeared to get emotional as he told those gathered that "God loves you so, so much."
Bieber and Grande's manager, Scooter Braun, noted that the singer performed her first concert in Manchester exactly two years before. He thanked everyone for attending despite a terror attack in London the day before.
"Manchester, your bravery is our hope," Braun said. "As unfortunately we saw yesterday, evil will test us, it will show its face again. But because of you we can now represent through this as a world wide community that we will be ready, we will be fearless we will be great and we will honor our children."
Braun said a TV broadcasting the concert was set up at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, where some victims were still recovering.
Marcus Mumford of Mumford and sons opened the show with "Timshel," followed by the Manchester pop group Take That.
Singer Robbie Williams then took to the stage to lead the audience in a rousing rendition of his Manchester tribute song, "Strong."
Pharrell Williams praised the people of Manchester for their courage.
"I don't feel or smell or hear or see any fear in this building. All we feel here tonight is love, resilience, positivity," Williams said before he launched into his hit song, "Happy" with an assist from Miley Cyrus.
More than 50,000 crowded into Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground to watch Grande headline the benefit. Justin Bieber and Coldplay are also scheduled to perform.
Some concertgoers clutched signs reading "For our angels" in tribute to the 22 people who were killed and dozens more injured when a suicide bomber set off a blast after Grande's concert at Manchester Arena on May 22.
The sold-out "One Love" benefit follows another deadly attack that rocked London late Saturday when three men drove a van into a crowd before stabbing people in nearby bars and restaurants.
Seven people were killed and 48 were injured in that attack.
Officials tightened security for Sunday's concert.
On Friday, Grande visited some of her injured fans at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
She shared some photos of the visits on her social media account.
The superstar brought each a sunflower and a teddy bear, according to Lauren Thorpe, whose eight-year-old daughter, Lily, suffered a shrapnel wound in her back as a result of the bombing.
The Guardian reported that Lily was released from the hospital in time to attend the benefit.
American fans were able to watch the concert on the cable channel Freeform, as well as Grande's YouTube and Facebook pages.
All proceeds from the event will go toward the "We Love Manchester Emergency Fund," in partnership with the British Red Cross and Manchester City Council.

"After the events last night in London, and those in Manchester just two weeks ago, we feel a sense of responsibility to honor those lost, injured and affected," Braun, 35, wrote in a statement on Twitter. "We plan to honor them with courage, bravery and defiance in the face of fear. Today's One Love Manchester benefit concert will not only continue, but will do so with greater purpose. "I am pleased to say we have the full support of Greater Manchester police and the government and are assured the safety of all those attending is the highest priority," he continued. "All artists involved have been unwavering in their support this morning and are determined to carry on with the show. We ask the strong city of Manchester and the world to join us in making the statement that hatred and fear will never win. Today we stand together. Thank you."

Grande, 23, also addressed the London attack on Twitter, writing, "Praying for London."

As previously reported, at least seven people were killed and more than 48 injured in central London on Saturday, June 3. Three male suspects were shot dead by police. A dozen others have been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred less than two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured 59 others at Grande's May 22 concert in Manchester, England.

The One Love Manchester concert begins at 2 p.m. ET, and features headliners Grande, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Niall Horan and more.

In Just 6 Minutes, Ariana Grande’s Manchester Charity Concert Ticket Were Sold Out

Ariana Grande’s upcoming charity concert, “One Love Manchester,” sold out in just six minutes.

The show’s official Twitter account shared the news on Thursday, June 1. “UPDATE: One Love Manchester is now completely sold out- and in under 6 minutes!” the tweet read, letting fans know that approximately 45,000 tickets were bought not long after they went on sale at 10 a.m. U.K. time.

UPDATE: One Love Manchester is now completely sold out- and in under 6 minutes!— One Love Manchester (@1lovemanchester) June 1, 2017

According to Ticketmaster, their site “was unsurprisingly met with remarkable demand for One Love Manchester tickets we had on sale this morning —140,000 fans were on the website and our call centre was buzzing. With over 450,000 searches on our site for One Love Manchester over the last 24 hours, demand was always going to be extremely high.”

Tickets cost $52, but concertgoers who were at the “Break Free” singer’s original show are being offered complimentary tickets. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the families and loved ones of victims who died in the suicide bombing at Grande’s Dangerous Woman world tour stop in Manchester on May 22. The star-studded lineup for “One Love Manchester,” which will take place at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on Sunday, June 4, was revealed earlier this week. Some of the acts confirmed for the fundraising event include Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Take That and Niall Horan.

Last week, Grande, 23, took to social media to announce the concert, and to share a message of hope in the wake of the terror attack. (The pop star was physically unharmed during the incident.)

“I have been thinking of my fans, and of you all, non stop over the past week. The way you have handled all of this has been more inspiring and made me more proud than you'll ever now. The compassion, kindness, love, strength and oneness that you've shown one another this past week is the exact opposite of the heinous intentions it must take to pull off something as evil as what happened Monday,” she wrote on May 26. “ … We will never be able to understand why events like this take place because it is not in our nature, which is why we shouldn't recoil.”

Survivor Shares Ariana Grande Manchester Concert Terrorist Attack Experience

I've never been afraid to go places. My mum gets bad anxiety about all the terrorist attacks—I had a school trip to the West End right around the time of that stabbing on the bridge, and she really didn't want me to go. But I told her, "You can't let this stuff stop you. You can't, because then they win!" I never feared it, but I'd never been through it. Last night changed that.

I'd been to Manchester Arena a couple of times—I saw Justin Bieber there once—but this was my first Ariana Grande concert. My dad took me, along with our family friend's two little kids.

We were sitting in a VIP box so we could see everything. I noticed this one girl below us—she looked so excited and was dancing the entire concert. I've been checking Twitter nonstop all night and day and my stomach dropped when I saw a picture of her. I think she's one of the missing girls.

It had been such a great concert. Ariana walked on stage at 9 p.m. and sang until 10:29 p.m.—I know the exact time because my dad wanted us to leave early, since it was a school night.

Her last song was a surprise encore of "Dangerous Woman." It was so great. Hundreds of these pink balloons fell from the ceiling. We actually thought all the banging noise we heard later was just the balloons popping.

My dad kept pushing us to leave because he wanted to beat the traffic. We started to walk out right after "Dangerous Woman," at 10:33. The crowd was packed really tightly, forming all of these queues, but I figured that was normal.

The first strange thing I saw was a group of girls hysterically crying. I saw one girl with blood on her cheek. I thought maybe they'd had a fight, or maybe someone pushed them in the crowd. Once we were outside, my dad bought me a T-shirt from one of the vendors. Suddenly everyone around us started to run.

At first we thought everyone was just trying to to beat the traffic like we were. So I grabbed my dad's hand, and then the hands of the little kids with us, and we ran into the car park toward our van. That's when we saw the fire brigade arriving, and the rapid-response police cars. There was so much noise—sirens, people screaming, honking horns, and so many phones ringing. All these teenagers, even 12- and 13-year-olds, were screaming into their phones, trying to get their parents to hear them.

Maybe I was oblivious, but I wasn't scared yet. We just kept running and running. My dad started saying, "Something serious is going on. Something must have happened." He is still taking it the hardest. He's been crying today, wondering what would have happened if we'd stayed one minute longer.

We just focused on getting to the van and getting out of there. We saw two girls standing on an island in the road as we passed, blood on their heads. Could it have been a riot? A knife attack? We still didn't know. I checked Twitter and saw that some people said it was a suicide bombing, but I thought that couldn't be right. It was a children's concert. Who would do that?

Then I realized that they hadn't checked our bags at the concert. Security didn't look—one of my friends who was there even snuck alcohol in through her purse. They didn't check my bag once. I could have brought in whatever the hell I wanted.

My dad dropped me off at my mum's house around midnight. I couldn't go to sleep. I had like a hundred messages and missed calls from my friends, and I was trying to reply to everyone so they knew I was alive. I stayed up until 3 a.m., just thinking and reading Twitter, looking for more updates.

It was so strange. You always see celebrities tweeting after disasters, sending their love or whatever. Now they were sending love to Manchester, to me.

I do feel like I don't trust things anymore. I'm supposed to go to the shopping center next week to get some new makeup and shoes for a big music festival in Manchester next month, but my mum doesn't want me going into the city again, let alone to the festival. There was another terrorist threat here already today.

I hope Ariana is okay. Her statement last night about being "broken" made me feel horrible. If I could talk to her, I would say, "Don't worry. It could have been anyone's concert. It could have been anything. You don't know what's around the corner."

Ariana Grande Shutdown Mac Miller's Fan Who Objectify Her: "I Am Not a Piece of Meat"

Ariana Grande has shut down trolls before, and the Dangerous Woman isn't about to start letting disgusting behavior slide now.

As Grande shared on Twitter, the singer was recently out with boyfriend Mac Miller when a professed fan of the rapper's expressed his enthusiasm by telling him Ariana is "sexy as hell," and saying "I see you hitting that." Not only did the guy say this to Miller, but he had the utter disregard to say it while Grande was "sitting right there."

The belittling comment did not go down well with Grande: She explained that while she is "sick" and hurt by the interaction, she's also incredibly fed up.

"Hitting that?" Grande wrote. "The fuck?? This may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I felt sick and objectified ... Things like happen all the time and are the kinds of things that contribute to women's sense of fear and inadequacy. I am not a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure. I am an adult human being in a relationship with a man who treats me with love and respect. It hurts my heart that so many young people are so comfortable enough using these phrases and objectifying women with such ease."

She continued, "I felt like speaking up about this one experience tonight because I know very well that most women know the sensation of being spoken about in an uncomfortable way publicly or taken advantage of publicly by a man."

And to Grande, the fact that this kind of everyday sexism happens so frequently is all the more reason to put it on blast each and every time it does. In her own words, "we need to talk about these moments openly because they are harmful and they live on inside of us as shame. We need to share and be vocal when something makes us feel uncomfortable because if we don't, it will just continue."

Grande capped the missive with one last truth about the women who men try to diminish or demean: "We are not objects or prizes. We are QUEENS."
