There was a whole lot of emotion happening in the Teen Mom OG Season 6 premiere, but to be honest, nothing got us choked up quite like Bentley’s reaction to his mama’s engagement news.
In a clip shared on MTV.com, Maci Bookout reveals just how she felt watching her 7-year-old get so choked up right after the proposal...and we pretty much can’t stop sobbing just thinking about it.
">“I wasn’t surprised that Bentley was excited but I was shocked that he was so emotional,” she says of the tearful hug they shared after he found out his mom was getting married. “Like it was a weight lifted off of his shoulders.”
The 25-year-old adds that she thinks Benny realizing Taylor McKinney was about to be in his life forever is what got him so choked up.
“Bentley can be a lot like me and hold his emotions in so I think it was kind of a hidden emotion that he had,” she adds. “When was he going to have a stepdad or a father figure that’s actually going to be there forever? I know he wanted that to be Taylor.”
In another bonus clip, Maci reveals more about the surprise proposal...and how impressed she is that her future hubby pulled it off without her knowing a thing.
“I pretty much know what’s going on all the time, especially if we’re filming,” she says of his proposal, in which Taylor enlisted the MTV crew to lead Maci to believe they were shooting photos for the show.
“Part of me thought that the cameras would be there but not actually there, I thought they might be hiding in the bushes or something. But I don’t have any ill feelings towards the fact that the cameras were there, to be honest. I kind of completely forgot about it.”
We get it, Maci. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the moment!
The MTV cameras will also be around for Maci and Taylor’s October 2016 nuptials...so at least she’s practicing the whole “ignoring the cameras” thing now!
