According to a source with Us Weekly, the Elusive Chanteuse “has been putting all her pain into a new album.”
Carey certainly has plenty of material to work with. Her romance with Packer was filled with extravagant getaways, his-and-hers yachts, and an alleged altercation between the businessman and Carey’s assistant off the coast of Greece. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more compelling backstory for a soul-searching single!
“She wants to have the heartbreak ballads she’s famous for,” the insider continued. The 46-year-old hitmaker has reportedly tapped producer and longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri in hopes of repeating the success of albums like Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse and The Emancipation of Mimi.
“They want to re-create that vibe,” the source said. “She wants to duplicate her old success.”
