Update, 4:35 p.m.: The CMA Facebook just shared the Dixie Chicks' video of their and Beyoncé's performance on its page. The move comes shortly after news of CMA erasing Beyoncé and the Dixie Chicks from its social media started to spread. CMA had not responded to ELLE.com's request for comment.
Original post, 3:52 p.m.: The Country Music Awards heavily promoted Beyoncé's performance at its 50th anniversary ceremony throughout the program last night. On the red carpet, a Snapchat filter was devoted to the Beywatch.
On Twitter, many Beyoncé fans complained about the long wait for her and the Dixie Chicks' performance of "Daddy Lessons" (which finally happened two hours into the broadcast, and was pronounced "show-stopping" by outlets like Billboard and us).
But look at CMA's Facebook and Twitter page right now, and all traces of Beyoncé are gone, except for some mentions in the comments by people who were angry the association allowed her to perform.
Bey and the Dixie Chicks are also not listed on the CMA's official performer list:
On Facebook, commenters took issue with her not being a "real country star." Others were mad at her involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement.
Her co-performers The Dixie Chicks were also called out. (The group fell out of grace in the country world, in part because of their comments against then-President George W. Bush and feud with country star Toby Keith years ago.) Natalie Maines herself said on Twitter this morning had Beyoncé not invited them to perform with her, she never believed they would have done the show again.
Neither Beyoncé nor the Dixie Chicks have said anything about this yet though Bey did just post photo evidence of last night on Facebook to confirm it did happen:
