If you're up to date with the current season of Pretty Little Liars (and if you're not, I suggest you correct this horrible mistake immediately), then you were recently reminded of an old PLL flame that you probably completely forgot about. #Jaria. Rosewood has been home to basically every possible hot couple pairing ever. From Tranna to Ariel, these are 17 PLL hook ups you most definitely forgot ever happened.
1. Aria and Jason aka #Jaria
Aria and Jason reunited fairly recently, and dropped the bombshell that something romantic was going on between them during the five-year time jump. But before all that nonsense, Jaria actually seemed like it could have been in the works all the way back in Season 2. Aria started having dreams about Jason, and the two even kissed (despite the fact she was dating Ezra), but they quickly fizzled when the Liars found creepy, stalkerish photos of Aria in Jason's shed. You know, as you do.
2. Spencer and Alex aka #Spex
The ship name alone pretty much guaranteed that this relationship was never going to work. Spencer met Alex in Season 1 at the Rosewood Country Club (of course), where they had the classic "we're from two different worlds" type of romance. Even though they attended a school dance together — the most serious step you can take in any PLL relationship — the two broke up after 'A' sent an application for a tennis clinic in Sweden on Alex's behalf. HOW VERY EVIL.
3. Emily and Ben aka #Bemily
A great couple name, but an all-round terrible relationship. PLL began its first series with Emily dating Ben before realizing that she has serious feelings for girls — specifically for her new neighbor Maya. Ben was a total dick who tried to force himself onto Emily in the school changing rooms, so we're glad he only made it three episodes before getting ditched out of the show.
4. Hanna and Wren aka #Wrenna
Like all good love stories, these two bonded in the halls of a mental institution. Wren helped Hanna in her mission to keep Mona at Radley instead of being moved to New York, and in a moment of madness, they kissed. It was a short fling, but fans really wanted these two to get together. There's still time considering that Wren's TOTALLY coming back before Season 7 ends, right...?
5. Alison and Ezra aka #Ezrison
Of all the creepy couples on PLL (and there have been some really creepy ones), Alison and Ezra have to be the worst. Ali, who was 14(ish) at the time, seduced Ezra, who was a college student. The two broke up right before Ali was buried alive by her mother. Memories!
6. Aria and Noel aka #Ariel
Before Ezra, Noel was the (age-appropriate) boy Aria was into. Sadly, when Ariel finally became "official," it was only because Aria was trying to shut down her feelings for her teacher. Things took an ominous turn when Noel found Ezria kissing in a car, where he terrifying wrote on the window: "I see you." Maybe it wasn't meant to be.
7. Spencer and Dean aka #Spean
Dean the sober coach! He never stood a chance. After the Hastings family hired him to help Spencer through her drug addiction in Season 4, he was quickly thrown to the curb after he and Spence were found (innocently) sleeping together. Never fall for the patients, Dean.
8. Mona and Noel aka #Nona
If Mona and Noel had wanted to take over the world together, they genuinely could've. You know, if Mona wasn't so busy torturing the Liars in Season 2. Well, there's still time for a reunion.
9. Jason and Ashley aka #Jashley
It was only been a one-time thing, but Jason and Ashley hooking up was one of the best things that ever happened on PLL. We don't know what's better, the fact that Ashley ended up rejecting Jason and resigning from her job to get away from him, or that Aria had no idea she was sleeping with her BFF's mom's old fling during the five-year time jump.
10. Jenna and Shana aka #Shenna
If you think about it, Jenna's actually the reason Shana ended up dying in Season 5. Shana decided to try and kill Ali as revenge for blinding Jenna, and while she managed to shoot Ezra, Aria soon returned the favor by shoving her off some weird concert stage in New York. We're 80 percent sure Aria has no recollection of murdering Shana.
11. Mike and Hanna aka #Manna
This one's not fair, because while Hanna admitted that her and Mike kissed when they were younger, we never got to actually see this. Which is just annoying really, considering how insanely hot Mike is now. BRING BACK MIKE.
12. Alison and Detective Holbrook aka #Holibron
Detective Gabriel Wilden came to Rosewood to get to the bottom of all the murders that kept happening, but luckily he still had time for some romance. Naturally, that romance happened to be with the girls he's investigating for murder, as he not only had a thing with Hanna, but also kissed Ali at her school dance. If you offered us all the money in the world, we still couldn't tell you what ever happened to Holbrook.
13. Hanna and Travis aka #Tranna
Hanna and Travis bonded in Season 4 over the fact that he had proof Hanna's mom didn't kill Detective Wilden. Romantic. They broke up due to a.) Hanna being a drunk mess all the time; and b.) Caleb being back on the scene. Poor Travis.
14. Aria and Riley aka #Rilia
We had to Google this for a full 15 minutes before we actually believed this Riley character ever existed. He apparently had a one night stand with Aria after she found out that Ezra was writing a true crime book about Ali's disappearance. We say apparently because we're still lowkey unsure that this ever happened.
15. Emily and Talia aka #Emalia
There have been some unrealistic couples on PLL, but Emily and Talia might have been the most batshit, mainly because Talia looked (and acted) about 20 years older than Emily. That might sound mean, but clearly we were right about Talia anyway, because it turned out that she had a secret husband. Don't you hate it when that happens?
16. Noel and Jenna aka #Jel
When Noel and Mona broke up in Season 2, he immediately moved on to Jenna — arguably the only person who's actually scarier than Mona. Their relationship may have fizzled out, but now, in Season 7, the two are working together again in the hunt for Charlotte DiLaurentis' killer. It's confusing AF, but hey, we're just happy that Noel's back in our lives.
