Kanye West Reveals The Real Reasons He Went To Visit Donald Trump At Trump Tower

Yeezus has spoken. Kanye West took to Twitter to reveal why he wanted to meet with President-elect Donald Trump at New York City's Trump Tower on Tuesday, December 13.

“I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues,” the “Famous” rapper, 39, wrote, adding in a subsequent tweet: “These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago.”

He continued: "I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change."

West, who has previously expressed his interest in running for president one day, then tweeted, “#2024,” seemingly suggesting the year he might think about making a bid for the Oval Office.

As previously reported, West stopped by Trump Tower on Tuesday morning to talk about life and exchange ideas with the 70-year-old ex–Celebrity Apprentice host, a source tells IPRESSTV. The musician, who lives in Los Angeles with wife Kim Kardashian, is in town to take meetings and look at apartments.

"[Kanye's] agenda going in there was to establish a relationship with Trump so that he can talk to him about how to stop the killings and violence in Chicago,” a source tells IPRESSTV of West’s reasons for meeting with Trump. “Finding ways to effect change for that particular issue has been heavy on Kanye's mind for years and he has been talking about it more often most recently with family and friends. His hope is that he will be able to keep this issue fresh on the mind of the Trump administration and they will make making Chicago safe again a priority."

After their meeting, which Trump's older daughter, Ivanka Trump, also participated in, the two men posed together for photos. "We've been friends for a long time," the real estate tycoon told reporters. "Life, we discuss life." For his part, West ignored questions from the media. "I just want to take a picture right now," he said with a laugh.

After shaking hands, the future POTUS told West, "You take care of yourself, I'll see you soon."

Their meeting took place nearly two weeks after West was released from the UCLA Medical Center on November 30 following a nine-day hospital stint for extreme exhaustion. Before calling off the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour in November, Yeezy told fans at a November 17 concert that he didn't vote in this year's election, but said that if he had cast a ballot, it would have been for Trump.
"I told y’all I didn't vote, right? What I didn’t tell you … if I were to have voted I would have voted on Trump," he said.
