When the nominees for the 2017 Grammy Awards were announced yesterday, Beyoncé came out on top with nine nominations, but Rihanna fans were outraged that the "Work" singer got snubbed, especially in the Album of the Year category. LPs like Lemonade, Drake's Views and Justin Bieber's Purpose are all in the running, but RiRi's ANTI didn't make the cut.
One lament came from an Instagram from a fan account, which suggested that Rihanna wasn't nominated for Album of the Year on purpose to keep Beyoncé in the lead. "I think they didn't want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough* 🍋. Cause if they wouldn't have played her she would have been in the lead with most Grammy nods," it says.
Things heated up when RiRi herself liked the post.

However, Rihanna clarified that she had never even read the caption; she just liked the post because she thought the photo was funny, The Shade Room points out. (A classic Insta mishap.) She went back to comment on the pic and addressed the bigger picture—that people shouldn't pit black women against each other.
"I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! Til I seen it pop up over and over! I'm petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary! I wish y'all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don't need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!"
BadGal RiRi has no hash feelings for Bey.
