While fans paid tribute to Beyoncé in all her glory on her 36th birthday, the Queen Bey herself celebrated Bey Day (a national holiday) at the Made In American festival with a stunning, 3-tiered, geode-style cake from Philadelphia's Cake Life Bake Shop.
According to Philly Magazine, Cake Life Bake Shop received a ~mysterious~ request last week for a black and yellow, geode-style cake to be delivered to the festival. Shop co-owner Lily Fischer told Philly she was blown away to find out the request came from Beyoncé's culinary team, who gave Cake Life creative control over the design. "Everyone here knows that I love Beyoncé…pretty much the whole week we just blasted Beyoncé," she said.
Cake Life's head chef Rebecca Craig created the decoration on the honey- (🐝) and lavender-flavored, three-tier cake from black fondant and edible sugar crystals. Along with a cake-topping piece, made to look similar to the head piece the singer wore during her Grammys performance, Craig and the Cake Life bakers also created cookies in the shape of golden crowns and beehives.
"Treats fit for a Queen 👑🐝!" The shop captioned the picture. "Thank you, @Beyonce, for including our cakes and cookies in your birthday celebration!! Dreams truly do come true..."
And then Queen Bey said, "Let them eat Grammys-themed cake!" (she didn't really, but wouldn't it be cool?)
