German rapper who converted to be ISIS fighter and later married FBI translator assigned to investigate him 'killed in Syria'

An Islamic State terrorist who married an FBI translator assigned to investigate him has allegedly been killed in Syria.

German rapper turned ISIS extremist Denis Cuspert, whose death has wrongly been reported before, is believed to have died on Wednesday during clashes in the eastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorote, local channels report.

Cuspert, who rapped under the name Deso Dogg, was also known as Abu Talha al-Almani.

He infamously wrote and performed songs in praise of Osama bin Laden, threatening Barack Obama with a throat cutting gesture and holding a bloody head.

He also used his musical influence to urge hundreds of young impressionable wannabe jihadis to fight for ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

In 2014, a 25-page dossier compiled by German secret services suggested he was right at the heart of the terror group's PR campaign.

In the same year, FBI translator Daniela Greene married Cuspert after lying to bosses about her movements and warning her new husband he was under investigation.

Within weeks of their wedding, Green, who was born in Czechoslovakia and raised in Germany, realised her marriage was a mistake and fled back to the US, where she was arrested and eventually served two years in prison.

She pleaded guilty to making false statements about terrorism and agreed to help the FBI. She was released in the summer of 2016.

Denis Cuspert has reportedly died in Syria

Cuspert was a rapper who had middling success in Germany under the name Deso Dogg, and whose career highlight was opening for rapper DMX in 2006.

In 2010, a near death experience in a car accident saw him quit rapping and turn to Islam.

He rapidly accelerated to radicalisation, and in 2013, entered Syria.

Cuspert is reported to have said: "My duty is to use my voice for telling people the truth and the truth is jihad is a duty.

"We must scourge the world of non-believers. We must wage Holy War because it is our duty to Allah.

"We must build a global caliphate. The world will convert to Islam or it will perish."

Cuspert was reported to have been killed in a missile attack in 2014, but appeared in subsequent videos.

He was born in 1975 to a German-Ghanaian couple, and grew up in various neighbourhoods of West Berlin.
