Trump To Replace Arsenal Coach: Piers Morgan Asks The United States President to Replace Arsene Wenger As Coach

Morgan, a vocal Arsenal fan and Wenger critic, used part of a one-on-one interview with the leader of the free world to discuss football.

The ITV presenter tweeted a picture of himself offering Trump an Arsenal shirt with the president’s name on the back.

He wrote: “The moment I invite President Trump to be Arsenal's new manager - because he'd build a strong defensive wall, have an attacking philosophy & want to win big trophies at all costs.”

Morgan has tantalisingly kept us waiting to see what Trump’s reply to his plea was. We will have to wait until Sunday when his TV interview is broadcast.

Trump has dabbled in professional sport. He owned the now obsolete New Jersey Generals during an ill-fated attempt to rival the NFL with the United States Football League, which lasted between 1982 and 1986.

The business tycoon may have to become more familiar with football over the next few months, however, as North America prepares to bid to stage the 2026 World Cup.

Canada, Mexico and the United States are considering a joint bid.

Morocco are the only other nation to have confirmed their interest in hosting the tournament.

Donald Trump is in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum.

He has held talks with UK Prime Minister Theresa May, and said of their meeting: “I can tell you I have a very good relationship with your Prime Minister, who I just left and I think she’s been doing a very good job.

“We actually have a very good relationship, although a lot of people think we don’t.

“I support her, I support a lot of what she does and a lot of what she says.

“And I support you militarily, very much and we will come to your defence if anything should happen, which hopefully will never happen.

“But I am a tremendous supporter of the UK. Tremendous supporter.”
