Boy, 3, manages to walk out of nursery sch. and walks half-mile home without staff realizing it

A 3-year-old nursery school pupil managed to walk out of his nursery school and walk himself home along a busy road without staff noticing he’d left.
Sarra Reid was beyond shocked when she opened the door to her house to see 3-year-old Liam standing there in tears. He had walked from his Barassie early years nursery in Ayrshire, Scotland to his home. Sarra immediately went to the nursery thinking staff members would be in a panic trying to find her son, but she was shocked for the second time that day to discover that they had no idea her son had been missing.

She told the Daily Record: "It is about half-a-mile, or a 10-minute walk. It is a really busy road. There are buses, lorries and I don’t really want to think what could have happened. He only had a pair of joggies and a T-shirt on. There was no teacher with him and he told me he wanted to come home."

Nursery staff believe Liam had walked through two sets of doors and an unlocked gate at the front of the nursery.
Following a meeting with nursery chiefs, the nursery has now made the door alarmed and put a padlock on the gate as well as stationing an extra member of staff near the door.
