Iran is going through a terrible drought. Rivers and lakes have dried up, reservoirs stand nearly empty. This year temperatures, even in winter, were high and autumn did not bring any significant rain. Instead of snow Iranian youths have gotten used to yellow smog, that now often engulfs big cities. But then, surprising everyone, a blizzard covered the capital Tehran and many other cities under a thick layer of snow. I stepped out on my balcony, and saw a group of children playing in the snow.
