These Are Wendy Williams' Saltiest Clapbacks: From Megyn Kelly to Ariana Grande

Wendy Williams tells it like it is.

The talk show host is known for being no-holds-barred when it comes to discussing pop culture or other subjects on her show. Her discussion with Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday was no different.





On Tuesday, Megyn Kelly made a comment about blackface during her show Megyn Kelly Today, and the statement received immediate backlash. "What is racist? You get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on black face on Halloween, or a black person that puts on white face for Halloween," she said on her show. "It was okay when I was a kid as long as you were dressing like a character."

Kelly later apologized for her opinion, but her remark about blackface still drew some ire from others on Wednesday. A few hours after her show, the host released an email statement about it and apologized for it again during her show on Wednesday. "I realize now that such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry," she said in an email to NBC colleagues.

"The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep," she continued. "I've never been a 'pc' kind of person — but I understand that we do need to be more sensitive in this day and age."

Wendy Williams brought it up on her show The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday and commented why she was so shocked to hear Kelly make these types of comments.

MEGYN KELLY

On Oct. 23, the Megyn Kelly Today host asked, "What is racist?" when it comes to people wearing blackface. On Oct. 24, Williams said on her show during a discussion with Rev. Al Sharpton, "Excuse me. This is such a basic thing for such an educated woman to know," she said. "She was lying."

Williams added, "It's shocking when it comes from such an educated woman with such a prime spot."

THAT EMMYS SNUB

Williams was snubbed from receiving a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award, and she was not pleased about it. She told Elle, "Who's a better talk show host?! Don't have one! Don't have one! Will probably never get one. But it's okay. You know why? Because I've got the power of the people.

BECKY WITH THE GOOD HAIR?

On her Lemonade album, Beyonce referenced a mysterious woman named "Becky with the good hair". Some people thought "Becky" was actually designer Rachel Roy, who has repeatedly denied having an affair with Jay-Z. which she has continuously denied.

In 2016, Williams commented on the affair and mentioned that she thought Roy was in on the game. "So Rachel Roy, first of all, you're not this fighting girl," Williams commented. "Unless you're on Jay Z and Beyoncé's payroll, and they pay you to mix it up for I guess sales for the Lemonade."

OH BROTHER

On Sept. 18, Julie Chen announced she was leaving The Talk as one of the co-hosts in order to "spend more time at home with my husband and our young son." Her husband is former CBS CEO Les Moonves, who resigned after a series of sexual assault allegations.

Chen was emotional and tearful during the announcement, which Williams commented on. "In my opinion, she wasn't crying because of the cast and the crew and the staff and stuff. She was crying because now she has to go back to that compound and deal with that man and try to keep her son out of it. And there is no compound to me that is big enough," she said.

In 2015, Williams received some backlash of her own when she made comments about Ariana Grande's appearance. "She's 21. She'll forever look 12," she said. "And I don't mean that in a good way. It's nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young and then you're short—she's only like 4'11". I don't look at her as, like, a woman."

Williams is fully "Out of the Woods" when it comes to her feelings about Taylor Swift. In 2016, the host spoke out about Swift's former relationship with actor Tom Hiddleston. "Taylor Swift is just not that interesting to me," she said. "Here's the thing, she's trying to trick us into thinking she's a good woman because she bakes and cooks and it's actually working right now on Instagram."

Wendy Williams Opens Up About Her Past With Cocaine: ‘I Was a Functioning Addict’

wendy williams demons are behind her. The talk-show host opened up in a new interview about overcoming her decade-long battle with cocaine addiction during her days in the radio industry.

“I was a functioning addict,” Williams, 54, told Entertainment Tonight. “I [would] report to work on time, and I’d walk in and all my coworkers, including my bosses, would know. But since I would have my headphones on … [they] wouldn’t fire me because I was making ratings.”

The Wendy Williams Show host admitted that it was not alway easy getting to the studio on time during her dark days, but she learned how to make it work. “[A] functioning addict has several alarm clocks,” she said. “You’re organized.”

She added, “It’s a miracle I was able to stop.

These days, Williams uses what she learned in her past in an effort to help others who are battling similar addiction issues. She recently partnered with The Hunter Foundation to launch a national campaign called “Be Here,” which helps combat drug addiction and substance abuse in communities.

This is not the first time the TV star has spoken out about her years of drug use. In November 2012, months after the death of Whitney Houston, Williams told fans that she was grateful for her life.

“That could have ben me if I hadn’t sobered up,” she said on The Wendy Williams Show. “Whitney and I are [about] the same age. We both come from New Jersey and from parents who love us. We both struggled to have a child. We never met, but we have an incredible amount in common. I thought at some point we would meet in a room and just hug. But we lost her.”

Paris Jackson Hit Back at Wendy Williams Over Criticism

Paris is pushing back. Paris Jackson reacted to Wendy Williams' comments about her via Twitter on Thursday, January 26.

As previously reported, Williams, 52, questioned the rare interview that Michael Jackson's daughter gave to Rolling Stone during her daytime talk show on Wednesday. "She has not made her mark on her own. You cannot be on the cover of one of the most prestigious entertainment and influential magazines in the world and just be the daughter of and tell your story inside. Sorry, you all," Williams said during her "Hot Topics" segment.





In response, Jackson, 18, tweeted: "She seems to think about the family a lot considering she makes all these claims about us. Why are we on her mind so often?"



The teen also caught wind of Williams' remarks about race. In Rolling Stone, Jackson, whose mom is Debbie Rowe, said that she considers herself black.


"I get that she considers herself black and everything, but I'm just talking about the visual because you know … black is not what you call yourself, it's what the cops see you when they got steel to your neck on the turnpike. It's what they see," Williams said on Wednesday. She quipped: "But that's cute, and good for her."

Jackson fired back by responding to an article headline that cited Williams' remarks. "Well she didn't birth me so," she wrote.

Wendy Williams Strongly Attacked By Blac Chyna For Making Negative Remarks About Rob Kardashian

Blac Chyna doesn't hold back. The pregnant model slammed Wendy Williams in a new Instagram rant on Saturday, November 5, after the talk show host criticized her fiancé, Rob Kardashian, and her mom, Tokyo Toni.

Williams, 52, discussed the engaged couple's relationship for nearly five minutes on the Friday, November 4, episode of The Wendy Williams Show. During the segment, she accused Chyna, 28, of dating Kardashian, 29, for fame and financial gain, calling their engagement a "great come-up" for Chyna.

"For those of us who've been there since the beginning, when Rob was thin, when Rob was smarter, when Rob had more confidence, when Rob was dating Adrienne Bailon, and he just seemed to be a different kind of guy," the TV personality said on Friday, "it's very fun to watch [Chyna] and her mom, Tokyo Toni, come up off of the backs of people who don't see through their ruse."

Showing the audience a recent photo of Kardashian, Williams continued, "And it's not even about Rob being overweight. ... It's bout Rob's lack of confidence. A woman likes a man to take control. Put some bass in your voice and don't let her run over you. It's not attractive."

The next day, Chyna took to Instagram with a lengthy tirade shared alongside an unflattering photo of Williams. "Wendy.. Wendy.. Wendy....you lost your motherf--kin mind hoe?" the Rob & Chyna star wrote. "How dare you speak on me, my fiancé, and my mom like you were at the Christmas table with us?! I find it so funny how you love to talk about Rob and his insecurities like at a point in time you wasn't a fat 400 pound ass bitch on the radio!"

"You telling him to put some bass in his voice? You want him to be like Kevin?" Chyna continued, calling out Williams' longtime husband, Kevin Hunter. "Right you want Rob to put some bass in his voice and a fist upside my head next right? You want him to be like your husband? Rob is MY MAN! MINE! I love him for who he is which is why we are together. Therefore it doesn't f--king matter what you 'Think' or 'Want' him to be he's not for you Bitch!"

The Lashed Bar owner, who is due to give birth later this month, then confronted the TV host for bringing up her mother. "Then let's not talk about this Lil vendetta you have with my mom," she wrote. "Wendy Bitch you're cruisin' Honestly truly.. You go out there talking about my family like you just hit the pipe backstage! When I decided to do this show I knew I would be letting the world see us. But your horse face ass woke up on the wrong side of the stable and decide to go overboard with your f--k boy comments. Bitch f--k you ! 'P' body ass hoe."

Williams has yet to publicly respond to Chyna's Instagram post.
