Ahead of Appeal, Steven Avery’s Lawyer Has “Fresh Evidence”

Thing are looking up for Steven Avery’s upcoming appeal.
The Making a Murderer subject’s lawyer Kathleen Zellner has revealed she has new evidence that could free the 54-year-old convict.
The attorney is so confident she’s going to clear Steven’s name, she even has an alternative suspect in mind for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
“There is evidence that already exists in the case that points to a different location and a different suspect,” Kathleen tells the New York Times.
The legal eagle plans to file a motion this week to access DNA evidence from the investigation against Steven.
She wants new tests performed on the DNA, something which wasn’t available during the original 2007 trial.
“We’ve got a combination of forensic evidence and a tip from somebody that we’ve interviewed multiple times that we think is credible,” the lawyer adds.

Kathleen believes the new information and testing could prove “physical evidence had been planted” at the crime scene, including Steven’s blood and DNA.
Although the Internet abounds with conspiracy theories about the Wisconsin case, Kathleen says her alternate suspect hypothesis “has not been presented before.”
It’s possible she means in a court of law, as opposed to Reddit.
Earlier this month, courts overturned the conviction of Brendan Dassey, Steven’s nephew and a fellow Making a Murderer suspect.
