Despite widespread speculation that the former wrestler’s now-infamous rant about an “unprofessional” co-star was directed at him, Vin Diesel recorded a video Friday, August 19 saying Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson "shines" in the Fast & Furious franchise.
In the Facebook video addressed to his fans, Vin praised his 44-year-old co-star stating, "The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into Fast 5 was because of you (the fans).
"There was a girl named Jan Kelly who said, 'I would love to see you work together on screen.' So the role that was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, we gave it to Dwayne and he shined in it."
Vin's comments came the same day The Rock expressed gratitude to the "fast family,” mentioning a number of his Fast 8 co-stars by name, but notably not his rumored nemesis.
As Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel,Tyrese Gibson, and the film's production crew were all showered with compliments in the Instagram post below, the franchise’s iconic figure and current producer was completely left off.
Although the film has finished filming, the drama continues to unfold.
