Before Criminal Minds’ Firing, Thomas Gibson Was Already Divorcing His Wife
Thomas Gibson’s life is in a downward spiral.
Just weeks after he was publicly fired from his role on CBS’s Criminal Minds, we learn the actor is also going through a terrible divorce.
The 54-year-old secretly filed for divorce in June 2014, according to court documents obtained by Radar.
According to reports, Thomas and his wife of 25 years have been separated for more than 2 years, and their marriage has suffered several obstacles in that time.
In 2013, it was revealed he had been the victim of an online catfish who lured him into a digital affair through Twitter.
The couple also stopped attending public events together and have not been photographed by paparazzi for years.
In his filing for divorce, Thomas wrote they had “ceased to live together as husband and wife.”
“The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities … that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation,” the documents states.
His wife responded with a “general denial” — meaning she basically denied everything he said — even disputing the date of their marriage.
But that didn’t stop the Dharma & Greg actor from continuing his divorce battle.
He filed a counter-petition reiterating his stance in December of 2015, but there haven't been any more filings since then.
Losing an epic job and a wife? Let’s hope his life turns around soon.
