Lady Gaga Confirms Her Role in ‘Star Is Born’ Movie, Teases New Single

Lady Gaga is authoritatively taking a walk in Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand's track.
The American Horror Story beauty has confirmed she will star in Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born remake, following months of rumors and clandestine motorcycle rides.
The upcoming movie will be Gaga’s first lead film role and Bradley’s directorial debut. The 30-year-old pop star will also write and perform songs for the updated showbiz tale.
"Im [sic] elated to be directed by & starring w/ Bradley in this project,” she tweeted. “He's a brilliant visionary artist. #AStarIsBorn #AStarIsBornCooperGaga."
Gaga’s big new movie isn’t her only huge news, as Mother Monster has also revealed she’s dropping her first solo single since 2013 next month. Get ready for a “Perfect Illusion!”

ORIGINAL (07/18/2016 at 4:10 p.m. ET):
Lady Gaga is already a pop superstar — and a bona fide actress, thanks to her Golden Globe-winning performance in American Horror Story — but get ready to see her ascent to stardom all over again in the upcoming film A Star Is Born.
The “Applause” singer is circling a starring role in the movie opposite Bradley Cooper, who is making his directorial debut with the project. She would play a Hollywood actress on the rise, with him playing a fading movie star helping her career.

Deadline reports Bradley and Gaga filmed a screen test for the project — and “the studio loved the results” after they “sparked to one another.”
If this project sounds familiar, it might be because Beyoncé was circling the role in 2012, back when Clint Eastwood was onboard as director.
This will actually be the fourth time A Star Is Born hits American movie screens — i.e. Bradley’s take will be the third remake of the 1937 original starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March.
The 1954 version, starring Judy Garland and James Mason, is the most popular to date. Judy and James both won Golden Globes for their efforts, and the film racked in six Oscar nominations.
And the 1976 remake also found success, with stars Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson also taking home Golden Globes.
Could Bradley and Gaga continue A Star Is Born’s golden track record? Let’s hope so. But we’re just excited to see their off-the-charts chemistry!
