Taylor Swift broke the Internet yesterday when photos of her serving jury duty in Nashville, Tennessee leaked. Swift couldn't have been sweeter to her fellow jurors—she snapped pictures, signed autographs, swapped stories, and even gave one Nashville mom "cool parent" status for life. Talk about Swift justice (sorry, had to).
But even Swift's good deeds couldn't keep her on the jury. TMZ reports that the "Blank Space" singer was dismissed from her civic duties late Monday morning, and it's not because she is famous—well, so we think.
No, Swift was given the boot because the judge decided she couldn't be "impartial" to the specific case at hand: an aggravated rape and kidnapping.
According to TMZ, Swift was jury-screened for a case about a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman with a broom. Given Swift's current case against a DJ who supposedly groped her backstage at a Colorado concert, the judge thought she would be too biased to participate in the trial.
And so ends Swift's brief-but-iconic turn as an agent of the court system. At least we have these pictures to keep us warm at night.
