Taylor Swift Made a Huge Donation to Orem Family Struggling With Medical Bill

Superstar Taylor Swift donated thousands of dollars to an Orem family whose mother has been in a coma for the last three years.
Because of mounting medical expenses, the Bartell's were concerned about losing their home and keeping up with everyday costs, then Taylor Swift saw her super fan’s plea for help.

“I just think of the times I was driving in the car and listening to it with my mom,” Sadie Bartell said.
Memories that now seem a world away.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’ is a song that reminds Sadie of the simple times.
But Sadie can't sing with her mom anymore. For the last three years Lourianne has been in a coma and can't communicate with her family.
“She can open her eyes and lift her head up and make noises, she kind of functions like a baby would function,” Sadie said.
Lourianne had an ulcer bleed out and that led to brain damage, robbing Sadie of her relationship with her mother.
“The hardest thing for me is having to go through the rest of high school 16-19 without being able to talk to her,” Sadie said.
During those difficult times Sadie turned to Taylor Swift. “She's been such a light for me."
With her dad taking care of her mom 24/7, Sadie helps with a bulk of the finances. Then last week her older brother moved out of the house, overwhelming Sadie.
“He's getting married, he’s moving out and he's going to have things to take care of and then I’m going to be the main provider,” Sadie said.
Sadie tweeted a plea online, linking to a GoFundMe page set up by Sadie’s aunt, and somehow it got to Taylor Swift.
“I called my niece and she cried for five minutes," Sadie’s aunt, Natalie Nordlund said. "I didn't hear anything else on the line but her tears."
A large donation from Taylor and her cats, Meredith and Olivia.
“I just lost it and I went downstairs and I told my dad and I literally fell on the ground," Sadie said. "I’m not even kidding my knees gave out and I collapsed and I bawled and my dad started crying."
And hours later, thousands of more dollars came in from Taylor Swifts fans.
The Bartell family says they're overwhelmed with gratitude and staying hopeful their mother will come out of her coma.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ tour pandering toward disaster

What is Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” worth? Not the jacked-up prices she’s charging for concert tickets.

That’s the verdict from ticked-off fans, who are balking at buying seats for the 28-year-old pop star’s tour to promote her new “Reputation” album, citing stratospheric markups and greedy sales gimmicks.

“I paid $150 for my ticket with amazing seats for the 1989 tour. Now for the same seats I have to pay about $500,” Twitter user “swiftieloves” recently griped.

A look at Ticketmaster’s interactive seat charts confirms that Swift’s schedule of 33 dates for the North American “Reputation” tour has yet to produce a single sellout, from its May 8 launch in Phoenix to its Oct. 6 finale in Arlington, Texas.

That’s despite seats being available to the general public since Swift’s birthday on Dec. 13. By comparison, all the dates on Swift’s “1989” tour in 2015 “sold out within minutes,” according to concertsandsports.com.

“Sales so far have been a mega disappointment,” one music-industry insider told The Post. “There are hundreds if not thousands of tickets left for every show.”

The stumble out of the gate is especially embarrassing given that the “Reputation” album sold more than 1 million copies within four days of its Nov. 10 release.

On top of high prices, some prospective buyers are getting irked by Ticketmaster’s “Verified Fan” program, which required participants to register weeks before tickets went on presale, proving they were and bona fide fans and not bots looking to buy tickets for scalpers.

Ticketmaster, which has used Verified Fan for U2 concerts, “Hamilton,” “Springsteen on Broadway” and other big shows, told The Post the program tries to “provide fans with the most reliable access to tickets and combat bad actors that use bots that subvert that process.”

But Verified Fan — which got rebranded to “Taylor Swift Tix” for the tour — has added a controversial feature called “boosts” that promises fans a chance to “improve [their] position in line to purchase tickets.”

Some boosts were innocuous, such as joining Swift’s official mailing list. But others cost money, such as pre-ordering the “Reputation” album, shelling out $50 for a T-shirt or purchasing the $60 snake ring that Swift wore in her “Look What You Made Me Do” music video.

“To get ‘further in line’ to buy Taylor Swift tickets she wants you [to] buy merch from her … this greedy snake,” Twitter user “Q_Taryntino” fumed.

Music blogger Bob Lefsetz called Taylor Swift Tix “a tone-deaf scam” that amounts to “upselling with a theoretical benefit” rather than a guarantee of better seats.

Indeed, some fans who bought into the “Reputation” tour’s presale between Dec. 5 and Dec. 8 got nasty surprises when tickets opened up to the general public five days later.

“I wasted my time buying with the presale code as the tickets available to the public were much better,” Twitter user “paigelizabethh” wrote.

“Any particular reason that #Reputation tickets in the 100s section during presale last week were $446 APIECE and now they’re $267????” asked “bigbiiisch”.

Ticketmaster touted Taylor Swift Tix as “an unparalleled success,” saying it delivered “the biggest registration we’ve ever had.”

By charging higher prices and blocking out scalpers, Swift and her promoter Louis Messina could fatten their coffers by as much as $1.5 million per show, according to an estimate in Billboard.

That sounds like a shrewd business strategy, but Swift still has a lot of tickets to sell to make that upside. In the meantime, the “Swifties” are getting restless.

“Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour tickets sold out in only a couple of hours,” one disaffected fan, alexiam77, tweeted. “Today, you can *still* get really well-placed Reputation floor seats. If that doesn’t tell you your tickets are too expensive, idk what will.”

Swift’s tour promoter, Messina, didn’t respond to requests for comment. Swift’s music distributor, Universal, said it wasn’t immediately able to comment.

ACLU Defends Article That Ties Taylor Swift To White Supremacists

ACLU Defends Article That Ties Taylor Swift To White Supremacists
The ACLU and Taylor Swift are squaring off after the singer tried to get an article detailing how white supremacy movements have embraced her lyrics and music videos, and how her silence has exacerbated the matter, pulled from a website.

On Monday, the ACLU sent a letter to Swift's legal team arguing that an article posted by PopFront that links the star to the white supremacy movement should not be taken down -- as Swift has requested -- because the writer has the right to free speech.

Things kicked off on Sept. 5 when PopFront posted an article by Meghan Herning titled, “Swiftly to the alt-right: Taylor subtly gets the lower case kkk in formation.” In it, the writer suggests that white supremacists co-opting Swift's music as a message of support for their beliefs is no accident. The article declares that Swift’s silence on matters of politics is a statement in and of itself, and it calls upon her to formally denounce white supremacy.

“Silence in the face of injustice means support for the oppressor,” the article states.

The article goes on to suggest that lyrics from Swift’s songs and imagery from her videos is meant to embolden racists.

“Taylor’s lyrics in ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ seem to play to the same subtle, quiet white support of a racial hierarchy. Many on the alt-right see the song as part of a ‘re-awakening,’ in line with Trump’s rise,” the article reads. “At one point in the accompanying music video, Taylor lords over an army of models from a podium, akin to what Hitler had in Nazis Germany. The similarities are uncanny and unsettling.”

On Oct. 25, Herning received a letter from Swift’s attorneys demanding that the website issue a retraction and take the article down immediately, threatening a lawsuit if they did not remove it by Oct. 24, one day before the letter was dated.

According to Variety, Herning contacted the ACLU of Northern California for help, and on Monday the group sent a letter of its own, which it made public on the ACLU's website, arguing that Swift’s request is a violation of the first amendment.

“Ms. Herning and PopFront will not in any way accede to your attempt to suppress their constitutionally protected speech,” the letter from the ACLU reads. “The blog post is a mix of core political speech and critical commentary; it discusses current politics in this country, the recent rise of white supremacy, and the fact that some white supremacists have apparently embraced Ms. Swift, along with a critical interpretation of some of Ms. Swift’s music, lyrics, and videos.”

Later in the 6-page response to Swift’s attorney, the ACLU takes a jab at one of the artist’s lyrics saying, “Criticism is never pleasant, but a celebrity has to shake it off, even if the critique may damage her reputation.”

The ACLU issued its own deadline, telling Swift that her legal team has until Nov. 13 to decide if they’re planning to move forward with litigation or not.

Watch New Taylor Swift's ' Music Video ...'Ready For It?'

Ready or not, Taylor Swift’s latest music video is here.

The pop star released her latest video for Reputation’s “…Ready For It?” late Thursday night. The futuristic production sees Swift in a black hooded garb walking through alleys, crossing paths with various red-eyed, militaristic-looking androids(?). When she reaches her destination, hooded Taylor approaches what appears to be a manmade version of herself — a robot Taylor? — inside a large glass box.

Mechanical Taylor is soon enveloped in full body armor, one arm equipped with large blade and with the ability to shoot lightning. Later, when the two touched hands on either side of the glass — this, after boxed-in Taylor has seemingly generated an electric current and more “life” within her confines — she blasts through the wall, shredding away hooded Taylor’s skin to reveal a machine interior.

Swift first teased the song during a college football game in early September before dropping it relatively quickly after her smash hit “Look What You Made Me Do.” Many believe the song, which chronicles the early days of a relationship, is about Swift’s latest beau Joe Alwyn. While there are no obvious references to him — though a final sequence on a set of stairs shows various dark-clothed figures fighting to get near her as her electric current keeps them at bay (Swift shedding herself of previous high-profile relationships, perhaps?) — it ends with a single tear streaming down the newly-freed Taylor’s face as her eyes flicker to an icy blue.

Directed by frequent Swift collaborator and fierce defenderJoseph Kahn, the video drew comparisons to previous Swift videos for “Bad Blood” and “Out of the Woods” from the moment it was first teased on Monday. Many also speculated that Swift’s nude robot body was a callout to Kanye, while the single’s cover art and the lightning motifs in the video were in reference to ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris and the 2016 hit Swift penned “This is What You Came For.”

The video is the latest in the run-up to Reputation’s November release from Swift, who just last week dropped the third singleoff the album, “Gorgeous.”

Other fan theories have suggested that Reputation will be a visual album in the vein of Beyoncé’s Lemonade, with the provocative and visually stunning videos for “…Ready for It?” and “Look What You Made Me Do” marking the first two entries in a larger feast for the eyes and ears.

Reputation hits record stores and streaming platforms on Nov. 10.

Watch The Battle Between Taylor Swift & Andy Samberg Eating Raw Cookie Dough In A New Video

Are you ready for it? Taylor Swift is all of us in her new commercial for AT&T’s DirecTV Now.

In the clip released on Thursday, September 7, fans are afforded a glimpse at the 27-year-old Grammy winner’s daily routine. The video begins as the “Style” songstress tunes her guitar in the studio. When noticing her cat Olivia in the corner, Swift crawls over to pet and cuddle with the feline.

Taylor Swift

Soon after, the former country crooner takes a break from the recording studio to indulge in a healthy snack and take a quick — and distracting — phone break. As the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer walks down the hall back to her workspace, she encounters Andy Samberg.

The two exchange a few snarky jabs before Swift tells the Saturday Night Live comedian, “Whatever, Andy Sam-jerk.” The A-listers proceed to have an intense stare-down, compete as caricature artists and end their feud with an “unbelievable choreographed fight sequence” in slow motion. The Hotel Transylvania actor asks the “Blank Space” artist for a timeout, but she kicks him into a wall instead!

Taylor Swift

After an exhausting fight scene, Swift treats herself to cookie dough before finding her way back to the studio. The commercial ends by teasing a new Taylor Swift song that we, sadly, didn’t get to hear.

“We’re shooting in these kind of fake sets and basically we’re doing this thing where like it’s a day in the life of me. I was really-method acting, I was actually eating the dough each time, so If I have to, you know, I’ll eat the prop food,” the “I Don’t Want to Live Forever” artist joked in a behind-the-scenes video.
Swift’s sixth studio album Reputation drops on Friday, November 10, and is now available for preorder.

The Taylor Swift Raunchy & Hilarious Speech About Bathroom Sex At Abigail Anderson’s Wedding

Taylor Swift, 27, held nothing back when it came time to deliver the speech at Abigail Anderson‘s wedding to husband Matt Lucier. New video has leaked showing Abigail’s reaction as Taylor delivered her speech during the wedding reception at Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday, September 2. In the video, Taylor’s voice can be heard speaking into a mic and telling a raunchy story about Abigail and Matt that maybe they didn’t want everyone to hear. Thankfully, both Abigail and Matt, who are holding hands in the video, couldn’t stop laughing as Taylor spoke. Phew!

“She’s running after him, there’s falling, there’s stumbling. They make it to the bathroom and I hear sounds that I can never un-hear,” Taylor says as the reception laughs, including whoever was taking the video. “And then, there’s silence. And then…” Sadly that’s where the video cuts off, leaving the rest of the moment between Taylor, Abigail, Matt and their wedding guests. We’re so glad to see that Taylor was not only a hilarious speech giver, but that she and her best friend had the time of their lives on such a big day. Check out the short but funny video below:

Twitter Users Think Taylor Swift's New Song Is About Harry Styles And Here's Why

Taylor Swift dropped her new song, "...Ready for It?" Sunday morning and the internet is already analyzing it for clues, naturally. While some people think the love-filled song is about Taylor's rumored current guy, Joe Alwyn, many on Twitter have another theory: Harry Styles.

The theory stems from the moment Taylor sings about a guy who is "younger than my exes but he act like such a man so." Why does that point to Harry? At 23, he's younger than Taylor's other exes, like Calvin Harris (33), Tom Hiddleston (36), Joe Jonas (28), John Mayer (39), and Jake Gyllenhaal (36). Of course Joe Alwyn is 26, making him younger as well, but not the youngest.

Also supporting it? That reference to ghosts and phantoms, which has fans remembering Harry's song, "Two Ghosts" and the "island breeze" line, which could call back to the vacation they took together.
Here is just a sample of the Twitterstorm this theory is causing:
