Jenelle Evans Defends Her September 11 Tweet A.K.A 9/11 Tweet

Jenelle Evans upset some of her Twitter followers on Sunday, September 11, after she tweeted that her uncle could have died on 9/11.

“Flying back from NYC and cannot believe that tragedy happened. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ช #WeWillNeverForget #WorldTradeCenter,” the Teen Mom 2 star, 24, wrote. “Sorry for everyone that lost their family or friends. My uncle retired a week before. I can almost relate. ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒค๐ŸŒ‡ #NeverForget #Remember911.”
Her second tweet about being able to “almost relate” upset followers who were also acknowledging the 15th anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack.
“If my uncle hadn’t of retired he would have been dead right now. So no 140 characters isn’t enough to explain,” she later tweeted and then deleted, while trying to defend herself. “Reason I said ‘almost can relate’ No, I don’t know how much hurt and pain it would cause me. Clearly stated that.”
“This is legit the stupidest thing she’s ever tweeted,” one follower reacted, while another tweeted at her: “Wtf is wrong with you?!?!? That’s the most insensitive comment ever! You should try to almost relate to being a mom!”
The MTV star, who is pregnant with her third child, kept her initial tweets up and also retweeted another fan’s more sympathizing tweet.
“@PBandJenelley_1 If you hadn’t said anything, people would say you were unsympathetic. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Crazy,” the follower wrote.
This isn’t the first time that Evans has caused a stir on Twitter. In March she tweeted that she was going to boycott the Teen Mom 2 after-show because she was being “bullied” by her costars following a Twitter feud with Kailyn Lowry.
Evans, who is dating boyfriend David Eason, is mom of son Jace, 7, with ex Andrew Lewis, and son Kaiser, 2, with ex-fiancรฉ Nathan Griffith.
