Why Would Ivanka Trump and Her Husband Jared Kushner Be HouseHunting in Washington, D.C ?

Closer to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue! Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are househunting in Washington, D.C., CNN reports.

The couple’s possible move indicates that Kushner may have a role in father-in-law Donald Trump’s administration. Although the 35-year-old businessman served as a close adviser to the president-elect during his campaign, an antinepotism law passed in 1967 could prevent the ex–Apprentice host, 70, from hiring his daughter’s husband.
Kushner visited the White House with the business mogul turned politician after the election victory and was seen taking a stroll with the current White House chief of staff Denis McDonough. Kushner was also named to Donald’s transition team, along with Ivanka and her siblings Donald Jr. and Eric.
While Kushner may have political ambitions, his fashion-designer wife has insisted during the family’s sit-down with 60 Minutes that she will not have a role in her dad’s administration. “I’m going to be a daughter,” she said during the November 13 interview. “But I’ve said throughout the campaign that I am very passionate about certain issues. And that I want to fight for them.… So, you know there are a lot of things that I feel deeply, strongly about. But not in a formal administrative capacity.”
The future commander in chief’s three oldest children will continue to run the New York–based Trump Organization, where they all serve as executive vice presidents.
It’s also possible that Ivanka and Kushner, along with their three kids — Arabella, 5, Joseph, 3, and 8-month-old Theodore — will split time between New York and D.C., similar to Donald’s wife, Melania, and their 10-year-old son, Barron. The former model and her son will temporarily remain in New York City and reside at the Trump Tower penthouse after the inauguration. They won’t relocate permanently until Barron finishes the school year.
