Lionel Richie Dodging The Question When Talking About Justin Bieber

It seems like everyone has an opinion about Justin Bieber and Sofia Richie's relationship lately, but one very important person is under "strict orders" to keep his opinions to himself: Her dad, music legend Lionel Richie.

TMZ talked to the Richies as they were leaving Pressed Juicery in Beverly Hills this weekend and, naturally, the Biebs was quickly a topic of conversation. It's awkward enough for any 18-year-old girl to listen to her dad talk about her boyfriend (or whatever Bieber is to Richie—the two haven't publicly defined their relationship), but when your dad and your boyfriend are famous musicians, the awkwardness dial is turned way, way up.

"I'm not going there," Lionel quickly declared when asked what he thought of Sofia's relationship with Bieber. "I have strict orders not to go there."

It's clear Lionel was trying his best to minimize Sofia's embarrassment at the whole situation, but when the TMZ reporter asked about Bieber's status as a future music legend, no one could hold it together. Richie laughed a little and (lovingly) teased Sofia about the comment, prompting her to literally make a run for it.

We can't blame her. Talking about a new relationship can be weird enough to make anyone want to run away.

Sometimes all it takes is just a little music to set the mood, right?

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are expecting their second child before the end of this year and it sounds like the 39-year-old initiated the baby making.

“Yeah, ya know, [I] just played a little Lionel Richie, and the mood hit!” he said to People on Tuesday, August 30.

The couple co-starred together on The Green Lantern while the Canadian was still married to actress Scarlett Johansson.

After the divorce was finalized, the two began dating and married in 2012. They had their first daughter, James, in December 2014.

Though the pair have kept their 21-month-old daughter out of the public eye, the Deadpool star loves sharing his passion for the outdoors with her, even if she is a little young.

“I’m a big outdoorsman. My relationship with the outdoors is a long, storied one and something I value greatly. I love doing it with my family.”

“I take my daughter out all the time. I live upstate New York, as well, so I’m able to get out there, and it’s all just the backyard and the forests.”

The 29-year-old, however, is far too pregnant to be hiking and naturally blames her husband for being left out of the family excursions.
