Up for a Swim?

All that sun would be hard to tolerate if Austin didn’t make up for it by providing amazing swimming, boat riding, and skinny-dipping locations. Austin’s sizzling summers are the perfect enticement to leave the least clothes on.

A trip to the Hippie Hollow is all you need to take that story-worthy nude swim. Lady Bird Lake and the Austin Lake are also a spectacular night sight, but the real outdoors experience happens in Hamilton Pool. Pools are Austin’s specialty - did you know that the 1936 Dead Eddy Pool is the oldest one in Texas?

Foot & Bike Adventures

Austin holds a silver medal from the League of American Bicyclists. It’s pretty clearly heaven for bikers and hikers. When you prefer a tour to take in the sights, take the Mount Bonnell hiking trail in the afternoon to catch an unforgettable sunset. For vigorous exercise, opt for the River Place Nature Trail, known for its steep inclines.

Instead of spending all your travel time locked up in a car or a bus, enjoy the warm days by cycling. Bring your bike to Zilker Park or on the three-mile long flowery Veloway.

Austin’s Night Out

With temperatures in Austin getting close to ninety degrees Fahrenheit, a taco and a margarita will ease at least some of the fatigue brought on by the scorching sun. The drop in athletic enthusiasm later in the day is understandable even if you are an exercise addict.

Austin’s bar terraces are the perfect place to toss your sports prowess to the side and dance the night away to local country music. Try Whisler’s and Weather Up for the best cocktails in town.

IBM Reveals Plan to Bring In 25,000 Jobs into U.S.

Ahead of her scheduled meeting with President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday at Trump Tower, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty had a major announcement.

In an op-ed for USA Today, Rometty laid out a plan for IBM to add 25,000 U.S.-based jobs over the next four years, including 6,000 in 2017. The company is also set to invest $1 billion in training and development of U.S. employees over the next four years.

The following is an excerpt from Rometty's op-ed:

"We are hiring because the nature of work is evolving – and that is also why so many of these jobs remain hard to fill. As industries from manufacturing to agriculture are reshaped by data science and cloud computing, jobs are being created that demand new skills – which in turn requires new approaches to education, training and recruiting."

Rometty is a member of Trump's advisory panel of business and technology leaders, which also includes Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Alphabet CEO Larry Page and Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt. These leaders are set to meet Wednesday at Trump Tower to discuss tech jobs.

Watch Harry Styles' First Acting In the First Trailer for WWII Drama Dunkirk

Director Christopher Nolan has done the impossible: He managed to get Harry Styles to cut his hair. Oh, but that's not all! Nolan also was able to somehow find an audience based on the cross-section of One Direction fans and World War II history buffs. Impressive.

In Nolan's latest film, Dunkirk, Styles fans can see why the singer had stepped momentarily out of the music spotlight to focus on his burgeoning acting career. The two-minute trailer, which dropped on Wednesday, December 14, paints the picture of the "Dunkirk Evacuation," in which more than 300,000 Allied British, French, and Belgian soldiers were able to escape the German Army—a pivotal moment in World War II for the Allies. Harry Styles can be seen in an army uniform as he sits on a beach alongside his fellow soldiers. Later in the trailer, he's seen struggling under water.

The film, which also stars Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, and Mark Rylance, will be released on July 21, 2017. So, we'll see you at the theater this summer, 1D fans.

3. You groom each other. Gone are the days of spending hours perfectly prepping yourselves before a date. Chelsea Handler in An Essay, Was Blasting White Female Trump Voters

Chelsea Handler is facing heat for an essay she penned this week calling for women to come together and support each other.

However, in the same essay published by Thrive Global, Handler singles out white female voters who supported Donald Trump -- a move that many are calling hypocritical.

Handler said there is a problem with "women supporting women" in the United States.

"One of the saddest things about November 8," she added, "were the women of America who somehow managed to vote for Donald Trump, specifically the 53 percent of all white female voters who chose Mr. Trump."

Handler noted that America "is a free country, and we are free to differ on public policy" but "what kind of a woman votes for a white, entitled rich guy who has spent his entire life working the system for excess personal profit while insatiably groping strange women for personal pleasure.

She said it was especially frustrating because Hillary Clinton is "arguably the mostly qualified Presidential candidate in modern American history " and would have "lift[ed] America up out of its 240-year ‘winning streak’ of male dominance and patriarchy."

She also said that "94 percent of black women voted for Hillary Clinton, because unlike white women, black women don’t take their rights, liberties, or justice for granted."

Many took to Twitter to criticize the Netflix host.
