Jimmy Fallon, Reese Witherspoon And Others Share Awkward Pics to Raise Money for Hurricane Maria Relief

What started out as comedy ended up being something way more serious. During Nick Kroll’s appearance on The Late Show on Wednesday, September 27, to promote his new Netflix comedy Big Mouth, the actor shared a cringe-worthy photo of himself as a teenager. Not to be outdone, Stephen Colbert then shared a school picture of himself with braces and announced he would donate $1,000 to Puerto Rico relief efforts for each celebrity who posted a photo of themselves at a “very awkward, pubescent age” using the hashtag #PuberMe and #PuertoRicoRelief.

As widely reported, Puerto Rico has been devastated after hurricanes Irma and Maria ripped through the island. Maria was a Category 4 storm that crippled the island with severe flooding, damaged buildings and left the U.S. territory with no power. At least 10 people have been confirmed dead and at least three hospitals are without supplies and running water. The damage is estimated to be billions of dollars and it could take several months to reconnect power and essential services to the island.

Many celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, have pledged to donate their own money and time to help fund hurricane relief. Several businesses including JP Morgan Chase, Verizon, Starbucks and Google have also donated.

Stars taking on Colbert’s challenge include Sarah Silverman, Reese Witherspoon, Jimmy Fallon and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Scroll through to see the hilarious pictures!

Meryl Streep, Jimmy Fallon, and Hugh Laurie Blasts Donald Trump at 2017 Golden Globes

And the hits just keep on coming! The 2017 Golden Globes were full of anti-Donald Trump jokes and comments by stars including host Jimmy Fallon, Meryl Streep and Hugh Laurie. 

Fallon, 42, kicked off the show at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills by comparing the business mogul to Game of Thrones villain King Joffrey. “Game of Thrones is nominated tonight, how great is that? The show has so many plot twists and chalky moments, a lot of people have wondered what it would’ve been like if King Joffrey had lived. Well in 12 days, we’re gonna find out,” he said, referring to the President-elect’s January 20 inauguration.

The Tonight Show host also joked about the businessman-turned-politician’s loss of the popular vote to rival Hillary Clinton. “This is the Golden Globes, one of the few places left where America still honors the popular vote,” he quipped. Fallon also added that the Globes’ ballots were tabulated by “Ernst & Young and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin.”

And the Saturday Night Live alum even mocked the transition team's difficulty in booking A-list talent to perform at Trump’s upcoming inauguration. "Florence Foster Jenkins is nominated,” he said. “She’s the world’s worst opera singer and yet even she turned down performing at the inauguration."

Hugh Laurie, who won Best Performance by an Actor in a Series, Limited or Motion Picture Made for Television for playing arms dealer Richard Roper in AMC's The Night Manager, took an opportunity to slam the real estate tycoon while accepting his award.

"I suppose it's made more amazing by the fact that I'll be able to say I won this at the last ever Golden Globes," the 57-year-old actor said. "I don't mean to be gloomy, it's just that it has the words ‘Hollywood,’ ‘Foreign’ and ‘Press’ in the title. I just don't know ... I also think to some Republicans, even the word ‘association’ is slightly sketchy."

He then jokingly told the crowd that he was accepting the honor “on behalf of psychopathic billionaires everywhere.”

For her part, Streep, 67, took a more serious approach when speaking out about Trump at the ceremony. She addressed the ex-Celebrity Apprentice star’s impending presidency without naming him while giving a fiery acceptance speech for the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award.

"And this instinct to humiliate, when it's modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody's life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect,” she said. “Violence incites violence. And the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.”

Tissues, anyone? Jimmy Fallon and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson orchestrated an emotional reunion between Tonight Show producer Karina Kabalan and her husband, Todd Kabalan, who serves as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

"If we ever have the opportunity to give back to our troops, I think we all should because we live and enjoy the life we have because of them," Johnson, 44, said during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday, December 9. "I would love to give back to a military family that's actually here in the audience. ... This person does not know."





The Moana star and the late-night talk show host, 42, then walked backstage to the control room, where Karina asked, "What is happening right now? What's going on?"

"I heard that you met your husband when you were both deployed in Iraq," Johnson said to the surprised staffer, who is a military veteran. "Your husband's name is Todd, and he's a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. And you guys have been living apart for the past year and a half because he is 5,000 miles away. ... We just wanted to thank you and your husband for your service and your sacrifice. And I personally heard you are the most amazing person, and we wanted to bring your husband home for you for the holidays."

As Todd stealthily snuck in the room, the WWE star told an emotional Karina: "Turn around and hug your husband."

After the couple embraced in a sweet hug, Fallon appeared to fight back tears. "Oh, man, I'm losing it right now," he said before initiating a group hug. Laughing, Karina asked, "How could you even do this without me knowing?"

After the emotional reunion aired, the Tonight Show host tweeted: "I can't believe we pulled that off. I lost it." Johnson added, "You're so loved by all your co-workers Karina. Grateful to have been a part of this."

Kevin Hart was so blown away by his visit to the scariest haunted house in New York, he farted! The comedian joined Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, October 14, for a terrifying adventure at Blood Manor, and the pair couldn’t have looked more scared.

In a bid to trump the heart-stopping roller coaster ride he made Hart go on in June 2014,The Tonight Show host, 42, took his guest on a Halloween adventure.

But clearly neither of them like getting spooked because they let out plenty of blood curdling shrieks - and some gas - of their own.

“Hey, Jimmy, I farted,” Hart, 37, yelled after one particularly dark and scary encounter with a werewolf.

With cameras strapped to their chests the pair made their way through the house of horrors where they witnessed chainsaw wielding men, scary clowns and an abundance of blood and guts.

Although Fallon admitted at the beginning, “I do not like being scared. I’m for real scared,” it was Hart who was yelling, “let me out” by the end.

“Listen if you guys watch this and at any point I look like I’m afraid - I’m an actor,” he joked after they made it through. “It’s me acting.”

Miley Cyrus was all over Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, teaching host Jimmy Fallon yoga moves, participating in a game of Phone Booth, and even referencing Fallon’s interview with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump during her musical performance.

Accompanied by some light percussion, acoustic guitar, and upright bass, Cyrus covered Bob Dylan’s “Baby, I’m In the Mood for You” forTonight Show viewers and audience members. While she delivered on the vocal front, she paused about halfway through the 2013 track to address Fallon and his crowd.

“There is nowhere I would rather be than in New York City playing this song with The Roots, and being on Jimmy Fallon with our host, who is always so much fun, except when you’re Donald Trump,” Cyrus said in part. “And then don’t even think about messing with my hair, I’m serious.”

Fallon was widely criticized for his interview with Trump, during which the GOP nominee praised Matt Lauer for his derided performance during the Commander-in-Chief Forum earlier this month, denied having a relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and allowed Fallon to tussle his hair.
