Vandalized Walk of Fame Star For Donald Trump Has Been Replaced

The star as it was being worked on Oct. 26.

The president-elect's star was vandalized late last month.

Donald Trump has a new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The president-elect's star was destroyed by a vandal who took a pickax to it last month. Workers quickly began repairing the star and completed it this week.
TMZ has photos of the new star, which is blocked off with security tape:

James Lambert Otis, 52, dressed as a construction worker, allegedly took a pickax to the GOP presidential nominee's star along Hollywood Boulevard, destroying it in the process, according to multiple witness videos of the incident.

In one clip, Otis tells onlookers he has family members who have been sexually assaulted, and he is angry toward Trump over vulgar comments the billionaire businessman was taped making in 2005.
Otis was charged with vandalizing the star last week and faces one felony count of vandalism over $400 in damages. If convicted, he faces up to three years in jail.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman dismissed a TMZ report that two officers were being dedicated to protect the star on a 24-hour basis, saying that the LAPD regularly patrols Hollywood Boulevard and the plan remains status quo.
"We always have patrol in the area," he said, adding: "There are no officers dedicated to guarding his star. The officers in the area always make sure they are visible."
A rep for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which oversee the Walk of Fame, declined to comment on the TMZ report.
