Ben Affleck, Jennnifer Todd, Matt Damon, Will Be Producin A Movie on America's First Detectives (Exclusive)

Chris Bremner will pen 'The Shadows,' which, in true Affleck and Damon fashion, is a Boston-set story.

Paramount is teaming with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jennifer Todd's Pearl Street Films banner for The Shadows, the story of America’s first detectives.

Chris Bremner is behind the pitch, which the studio acquired, and will now write the script for what will be a period thriller.

Based on the Matthew Pearl’s Boston Globe Magazine article "Into the Shadows," the project will tell the story of the country's first undercover officers, which were first organized in Boston, the hometown of Damon and Affleck.

In the late 1840s, Boston was a growing town of almost 140,000 but only had 30 police officers and 150 patrolmen, according to the account. With crime rampant, the mayor gave the nod to the creation of a task force known as "The Shadows," the first police force to work with criminal informants, wear plain clothes and go undercover. The group revolutionized law enforcement as it blurred the lines between right and wrong amidst the xenophobia and hysteria of the nation’s first great immigration wave.

Pearl Street last produced Kenneth Lonergan's Oscar-winning drama Manchester by the Sea and the period crime drama Live by Night, which Affleck directed. Todd was also a producer on this year's Academy Awards and is working on next year's show.

Bremner is currently working on the script for Sony's Bad Boys 3 and is co-writing director Dan Trachtenberg's Harry Houdini biopic, Houdini, with writer Noah Oppenheim (Jackie). He previously penned the 2015 Black List script Black Friars, which was picked up by Lakeshore.

Bremner is repped by UTA, Kaplan Perrone and Bloom Hergott.

Canadian TV Host Is Defending Ben Affleck's Conduct in Wild 2004 Video Interview

Canadian TV personality Anne-Marie Losique is defending Ben Affleck‘s conduct in a resurfaced 2004 interview, telling The Hollywood Reporter that the actor “never touched me in any improper way.”

“It has been blown out of proportion,” Losique told THR. “I know that people like fishing for anything, but this is completely out of context. I would like this to not have any negative impact on him. I find it sad.”

In the original interview, Affleck pulled Losique into sitting on his lap, proposed she take her top off, and complimented her on her “firm breasts.” The interaction was filmed while Affleck was dating Jennifer Lopez.

The clip has resurfaced amid mounting allegations of sexual misconduct against Affleck’s frequent collaborator Harvey Weinstein, and the actor’s response to the claims.

“This was for the camera,” Losique said of the video. “You have to understand that we have done dozens and dozens of interviews like that. It was for a show I was producing, so I was not at all a victim. When the cameras rolled, we would start to do that game. As soon as it stopped rolling, there was none of that. He never touched me in any improper way. He was very respectful, I must say.”

Losique said that 20 people were in the room when the interview was taped, and that both she and Affleck knew it would air publicly. She added to THR, “I can’t say I am thrilled to have that interview mixed in with the other stories because I don’t think that is at all the same thing.”

Earlier this week, another clip featuring Affleck from 2003 went viral after actress Hilarie Burton claimed he groped her when she was a host of MTV’s TRL. Affleck has since apologized for his behavior, saying in a statement, “I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize.”

Ben Affleck Out as Batman? Warner Bros. Eyes Replacing Him

With Matt Reeves replacing Ben Affleck as director of The Batman, and recently revealing he’d tossed out Affleck and Geoff Johns’ script, many fans were wondering when Affleck himself might jump ship from the role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Pictures is mulling over that very thing, with an eye towards replacing Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman in an upcoming DC Extended Universe movie, very likely The Batman.

While Affleck will reprise the role in the upcoming Justice League, his third time at bat after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, either the studio or the actor himself (or both) are not happy with the way the DC movies are shaping up. It could also be a simple case of ageism, with the nearly 45-year-old Affleck far older than any of his fellow Justice Leaguers. Zack Snyder envisioned this iteration of the Dark Knight as an older, battle-hardened Batman who’d been beating up criminals in Gotham City for years by the time we catch up to him. Snyder has now exited the DC universe, with Joss Whedon taking over extensive reshoots on Justice League before filming his own Batgirl within the next year or two. The Batman is being eyed as the first in a potential trilogy, so if Affleck was getting cold feet about the role, it would definitely be a good idea for him to step out before the first one shoots.

However, the studio’s current line is Affleck is still all-in, with studio chief Toby Emmerich saying, “Ben is our Batman. We love him as Batman. We want to keep him in the cowl as long as we can.”

In the upcoming Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Amber Heard as Mera, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, with CiarĂ¡n Hinds as Steppenwolf and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

Justice League is set to hit the big screen November 10.

Jennifer Lopez Seems To Be Pleading To Get Back With Ex Ben Affleck

Are we headed back to 2002?
Rumors have been swirling for awhile about the possibility of exes Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck getting back together, especially since they each just got out of long-term relationships.

“With J.Lo suddenly single and Jennifer Garner preparing to officially file for divorce from Ben, the former couple have been busy reconnecting,” a source toldLife & Style.
“They’ve been talking on the phone for hours at a time. Their relationship was always intense and had a lot of passion. It’s like they are back together already.”
The former couple got engaged in 2002, but postponed their wedding in September 2003. They eventually ended their relationship in January 2004.

“After splitting from Casper [Smart], she reached out to Ben. She thinks he could be the one and is convinced they’ll make the perfect couple.”
The 44-year-old is also apparently interested in the reunion — “Once his divorce is official, she’d love to be running around town with him.”
But, we’ve got bad news for all you Bennifer shippers — it doesn’t look like this couple is getting back together. Like ever.

A source close to the father of three says the story is “crazy” and the duo “have their own lives.”
