WE Finally Know The Exact Month in 2019 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Will Air

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we have a bit of a wait before the eighth—and final—season of Game of Thrones premieres. Earlier this month, Sophie Tuner (a.k.a. Sansa Stark) confirmed it won't hit the air until 2019, which is disappointing—and vague! Exactly when in 2019 is this happening? Are we talking January 1 at exactly 12:01 A.M., or is it some miserable time, like December 4? No shade toward people with December 4 birthdays, by the way, but can you imagine waiting that long for Game of Thrones? That's basically 2020!

Don't worry, though: You won't be waiting that long. In a new interview with Metro, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) says Game of Thrones season eight will debut in the spring of 2019—specifically, April.

"We wrap [shooting] in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]. That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes," the actress said. "There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities. "

Game of Thrones' final season may not be airing until 2019, but the cast is pretty happy to tease everyone about what's going down during shooting—which yes, they've all likely started back in Belfast right now.

Lena Headey confirmed so much in her own behind-the-scenes shot from a wig fitting. She's basically Cersei Lannister posing as Daenerys alongside hair designer Kevin Alexander and hair supervisor Candice Banks, who wear their own old Dany wigs.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Will Be Filming Multiple Versions Of The Finale To Fight Off Spoilers

Jon Snow was supposed to be dead.

So why was Kit Harington spotted in Belfast, where Game of Thrones is partially filmed, less than a month after he was stabbed to death by his brothers in the Night’s Watch? His presence may have gone otherwise unnoticed outside of Ireland, were it not for fansites like Watchers on the Wallthat obsessively document all things Westeros. On-set photos and spoiler-heavy tips are problems for blockbuster shows like Game of Thrones (and The Walking Dead and Westworld), but HBO’s president of original programming Casey Bloys has a solution for the inevitable series finale leaks.

“I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens,” he said at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA last week. “You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

Bloys continued, “Finales are tough. If you think about, Six Feet Under, well that was a pretty good finale. But if you think about Seinfeld, if you think about The Sopranos, if you think about Breaking Bad, everybody has an opinion about how a show should end.” He’s right: Game of Thrones should end with Davos on the Iron Throne. You’re welcome, HBO.

The Whole 'Game of Thrones' season 7 plot leaked before the finale Unveils one crucial scene that never aired

The latest season of "Game of Thrones" was rife with satisfaction for fans. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen finally met. The White Walkers finally made it to the Wall, then broke through with a zombie dragon. Most importantly, the framework was set for the inevitable battle between the living and the White Walkers.

But even with all that closure, one huge wrinkle remains: Queen Cersei is pregnant with her fourth child with her twin brother, Jaime. But as longtime fans of the series know, Cersei is very unlikely to give birth to another child.
According to a mostly accurate leaked outline of season seven, the latest season of "Game of Thrones" intended to tie off that loose thread as well.
Cersei Jaime EastwatchHBO
Warning once again: potential spoilers ahead for "Game of Thrones" season eight.
In a Reddit leak from October that has mostly proved accurate, a crucial scene involving Cersei would've solved the issue of the potential fourth child with Jaime. The original poster has since deleted their account, so Redditor maureencreates compiled them.
Here's the synopsis of the scene involving Cersei that never appeared in season seven:
"Cersei awakens in a bed soaked with blood. The general consensus is that she miscarries."
Given the nature of the leak as an outline, it's possible that such a major plot point would've come with more of an explanation.
So what happened? Why didn't this crucial scene show up in season seven? The idea might've been scrapped in favor of another solution further down the road. Or it might've been filmed and saved for the final season of "Game of Thrones" — or something entirely different. It's hard to know.
We do know one thing: It's extremely unlikely that Cersei will give birth to a fourth child.
Game_of_Thrones cersei jaime HBOSorry, Jaime! HBO
There's a simple reason for this, and it lies in a scene from season five.
In the first episode of that season, fans were treated to a flashback of Cersei as a teenager visiting a fortune teller, Maggy the Frog. Though Cersei's hoping for good news about her future as Queen of Westeros, Maggy has a far more macabre tale to spin.
Here's how that conversation goes:
Cersei: I'm promised to the prince. When will we marry?
Maggy: Never. You will wed the king.
Cersei: But I will be queen?
Maggy: Oh yes. You will be queen, for a time — until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.
Though vague, fans can line up how that all plays out. Rather than marrying the prince she was promised to, Rhaegar Targaryen, she ended up marrying the man who became king after Robert's Rebellion, Robert Baratheon.
But as we know now, Robert's Rebellion was born of a lie — that Rhaegar kidnapped Lyanna Stark, Ned Stark's sister. In fact, Lyanna and Rhaegar were in love (and even secretly married).
But that wasn't all that Maggy the Frog told Cersei as a teenager. Cersei asked a follow-up question: "Will the king and I have children?"
game of thrones young cerseiHBO
Maggy responds with something more specific, but far darker: "The king will have 20; you will have three. Gold will be their crowns, and gold their shrouds." She then bursts into maniacal laughter.
Thus far, what Maggy said all those seasons ago has come true. Cersei didn't end up marrying Rhaegar; instead, she married Robert. She had three kids, none of whom were fathered by her husband, but by Jaime, but all of whom have died.
All of which is to say one thing: Cersei is very unlikely to give birth to a fourth child. It remains to be seen how "Game of Thrones" will handle that issue, but the leak from 2016 gives us some idea of what could be in the works.
It looks like we'll have a long time to wait to find out, as "Game of Thrones" season eight — the final season — isn't arriving for quite some time.

Kit Harington & Emilia Clarke Both Feature in D&G's New Fragrance Campaign, and It's Adorable

As we approach the first weekend without a new episode of Game of Thrones, Dolce & Gabbana has just the remedy to quell our appetite for more. Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington, whose characters Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow sealed their romance in one of the most talked-about scenes of the season seven finale, unite once again in a campaign for The One fragrances. It's almost too much to handle.

Emilia, face of The One Eau de Toilette, and Kit, face of The One for Men ($67), both have commercials where they party in the streets alongside locals in Naples, Italy. Captured by filmmaker Matteo Garrone, they both look stunning dressed to the nines. There's dancing. There's spaghetti. It's festive, playful, and gives even more reason to want to hang out with these two IRL close friends. While the charismatic duo don't share screen time together in this campaign (sob), our fingers are crossed that Dolce & Gabbana has more in store.

While The One for Men has been a D&G classic since 2008, the Eau de Toilette is a brand new offering for Sept. 2017. Expect a sensual scent made up of top notes madonna lily, bergamot, and white peach with other notes of orange blossom and vanilla.

Ahead, see both of their campaign photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes goodness.

The Complete Truth About Jon’s Parents On ‘Game Of Thrones’ May Not Have Been Discovered By Gilly

Warning: Spoilers and speculation for Game of Thrones below
After years of waiting, Game of Thrones fans finally know the truth about Jon Snow. He’s no Snow at all, but instead a trueborn Targaryen prince. Born of a marriage between Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lady Lyanna Stark, Jon’s birth name was Aegon Targaryen. Little Aegon was born into a world on fire. His uncle, Ned Stark, had joined Robert Baratheon’s rebellion against the Mad King.

Robert was pushing his agenda forward on a lie: that Robert’s finance, Lyanna, had been kidnapped and raped by Rhaegar. On the strength of that false belief, Robert Baratheon changed the world of Westeros forever, hunting down every Targaryen he could fine and killing Rhaegar on the field of battle. Robert even went so far as to have Aegon/Jon’s half-siblings, the children of Rhaegar and Elia, killed. No wonder Lyanna made Ned promise her that he would keep Jon’s true lineage a secret.

Game of Thrones had been throwing out some serious breadcrumbs ahead of this reveal for years. But it wasn’t until Gilly found a book in Oldtown that the series disclosed how Jon could be Rhaegar’s true heir, and not simply a bastard by another name. In the private journal of High Septon Maynard, Gilly reads the head of the Faith issued an annulment to Prince Rhaegar and Princess Elia, making Aegon/Jon the true heir to the Iron Throne. But, considering everything the audience knows both about the history of the Targaryen royals and Rhaegar’s relationship with Elia Martell, issuing an annulment seems strange. Why wouldn’t Rhaegar simply take another wife?

Perhaps he did. HBO just released an image from High Septon Maynard’s journal on their Game of Thrones page, including the entry that speaks to Rhaegar and Lyanna’s marriage. Due to the ravages of time (and the props department), part of the entry is obscured beyond all decipherability.

HBO

However, using Photoshop helps highlight some of the text. But no matter how much the diary entry was enhanced, no mention of the word “issuing” appears.

Due to unforeseen events and [blank], I have to [blank blank] from jotting down my records for [blank blank blank blank] annulment to Prince Rhaegar [blank blank blank] marriage to Elia Martell [blank blank blank] marriage to Lyanna Stark in Dorne. [Blank] forbid me to tell anyone of the ceremony so I shall [blank]

Let’s start with the reveal that Maynard was forbidden by someone to speak of the ceremony of Rhaegar and Lyanna. If Rhaegar was truly setting aside his first wife, this amount of subterfuge makes no sense. From a political standpoint, Dorne would have been furious to have their princess cast aside for Lady Lyanna, but as long as Rheagar didn’t disinherit their children, the fallout would’ve been less dramatic than Robert’s Rebellion. Heirs have always been important to royalty, and the “prince that was promised” prophecy holds weight in Westeros: If Elia couldn’t give birth to another child, Rhaegar could’ve have easily argued he needed a fertile wife to produce the third head of the dragon. A legal marriage between Rhaegar and Lyanna would’ve stopped Robert’s jealousy from spilling over into warfare, and a huge wedding would’ve legitimized the union to the smallfolk.

Why go through all this cloak and dagger nonsense then? What if Rhaegar didn’t annul his first marriage? The diary entry above says “annulment toPrince Rhaegar” instead of “annulment for Prince Rhaegar.” I posit the High Septon was leaving a record that he suggested annulment to the royal heir and Rhaegar rejected the notion out of hand. Remember, the Faith of the Seven in Westeros highly frowns on men taking multiple wives. This principle was one of the factors in the original uprising of the Faith Militant. If Rhaegar had convinced the High Septon of the need for three heirs, of course the Faith would advocate for dissolving the first marriage before the second could occur. If Rhaegar refused, the High Septon would then be in a bind: go through with the marriage to Lyanna Stark despite it being an abomination in the eyes of the Seven or disobey a direct command from his gods-appointed ruler. A secret wedding seems a good compromise.

This would also give a better explanation as to why the couple was in Dorne. It is well established that Rhaegar left the Tower of Joy at the call of his father — the Mad King — to fight against Robert’s Rebellion. Rhaegar would die at Robert’s hand in the Battle of the Trident. Elia and her children were imprisoned in the Red Keep immediately prior the battle as the Mad King feared Dorne had turned on the Iron Throne. What is less known is Elia’s whereabouts prior to the Battle of the Trident. Was she languishing in King’s Landing while her husband entertained his new lover? Or did she travel to Dorne as well, giving her seal of approval (or at least her seal of not disapproval) to the union? Martin has said over the years that Rhaegar and Elia had a “complex” relationship, which could be seen as leaving a metaphorical crack in the door for Rhaegar to have two wives. And, to be honest, hiding a bigamous royal marriage for the sake of a prophecy makes a lot more sense than secretly annulling a first marriage.

THE WEIRD REASON WHY CERSEI AND BRONN OF GAME OF THRONES' ARE NEVER IN A SCENE TOGETHER

Who wants to hear some Game Of Thrones-based gossip…

Well, exactly—everybody. And this little snippet of gossip is worth a bag of gold pieces, if you ask me.

So you know how in the season 7 finale it was a bit weird how Bronn—played by Robson and Jerome's Jerome Flynn—took Brienne of Tarth's right hand man Pod away for a drink when there was a fairly good chance a massive fight was going to kick off between everyone?

Yeah, it would have been quite good to have Pod and Bronn—who's always there to lend Jaime a hand when he gets into a sticky situation—there to help out, right?

Well, it turns out Bronn had to get the hell out of there before Cersei Lannister turned up because Jerome and Lena Headey used to go out together, and the whole thing ended very badly.

According to the internet, there has only actually ever been one scene where they were onscreen together (don't ask me when, for I am only human...). And GOTproducers were lucky to even get that to happen because it's actually stated in their contracts that they are not to star alongside each other.

A source told the Telegraph, "Jerome and Lena aren't on speaking terms anymore and they are never in the same room at the same time. It's a pity because they appeared to have patched things up for a while, but now the word is they should be kept apart at all costs."

Incredible that you can be the biggest badasses in Westeros, but an ex is still an ex at the end of the day…

This Game of Thrones Deleted Scene Reveals a Lot About That Season 7 Finale Death

Warning: This post contains spoilers for season seven of Game of Thrones.
Just when it seemed like Littlefinger had succeeded in turning Sansa and Arya Stark against each other in Game of Thrones' season seven finale, the sisters revealed that they were pulling one over on the master manipulator. But they wouldn't have been able to fully expose Littlefinger for what he was without the help of their brother Bran.

After Sansa accused Littlefinger of conspiring with Cersei and Joffrey to betray Ned, Bran provided the nail in the coffin by echoing the words Littlefinger said to Ned when he betrayed him in the Red Keep's throne room: "I did warn you not to trust me."

Although Bran had previously hinted that he knew the truth about Littlefinger, it seemed as though he was too overwhelmed by his Three-Eyed Raven abilities to intervene in the situation. However, it turns out a deleted scene would have given some background to his role in Littlefinger's surprise trial.

"We actually did a scene that clearly got cut, a short scene with Sansa where she knocks on Bran’s door and says, 'I need your help,' or something along those lines." Isaac Hempstead Wright — who plays Bran — told Variety. "So basically, as far as I know, the story was that it suddenly occurred to Sansa that she had a huge CCTV department at her discretion and it might be a good idea to check with him first before she guts her own sister. So she goes to Bran, and Bran tells her everything she needs to know, and she’s like, 'Oh, s—.'"

How The Open Revelation About Jon Snow changes everything in Game of Thrones

We suspected it was coming. We were nearly certain. So perhaps the biggest twist of the Game of Thrones season 7 finale was that there was no twist at all with respect to Jon Snow’s parentage: The details the series held back confirming were precisely what fans had figured all along. Jon Snow is not a Stark, nor even a bastard, but the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, who was legitimately married to Lyanna Stark. But now that Bran Stark and Samwell Tarly know this too and are preparing to tell Jon Snow, the reveal has massive implications for the show’s eighth and final season.

Let’s break this down: The reveal means Jon Snow has no business whatsoever being King in the North. But it means he has every right to sit on the Iron Throne. And it means Daenerys is not the true heir at all. And it means the man just had #BoatSex with his aunt.

It also means Jon Snow’s name isn’t actually Jon Snow. He’s Aegon Targaryen. Yes, we’re still getting used to that too. Let’s face it, he doesn’t exactly look like an Aegon (though we’re also not entirely sure what an Aegon looks like).
The name Aegon has a long history with the Targaryen dynasty. Jon Snow would actually be Aegon VI Targaryen (unless his brother, the doomed infant Aegon,* is also counted).
Jon (we’re going to keep using that name for now) and Daenerys will surely learn this news early next season. And it raises some big questions:
1. Will Daenerys accept Jon as legitimate? Will she throw aside her long-time goal and support Jon’s claim?

2. Does Jon want to be the king of Westeros? It doesn’t seem like something he’d aspire to be, but, then again, he spent his whole life believing he wasn’t entitled to anything at all. Might Jon, instead, continue to support Daenerys despite having the better claim? It seems most likely they’ll take a page from the Dragonpit summit and continue to focus on the problem at hand — defeating the Night King — with an eye toward figuring out who gets the throne later. It’s also very possible one or both will be killed before they have to make that final decision.
3. Will Dany and Jon halt their romance when they learn they’re related? Incest isn’t viewed with quite the same level of disgust and criminality in Westeros as in our own world — especially among Targaryens (Daenerys is the product of incest herself). But it’s still rather frowned upon and it’s hard to imagine these two characters being all that thrilled about it.
4. Will Dany get pregnant? Dany has long said she can’t have children, but her reasoning for this is tenuous (she believes she can’t after her child with Drogo was stillborn, the witch cursed her and she “birthed” three dragons instead). Could she be wrong? And could having a child keep Jon and Dany’s romance going if they otherwise would want to separate?
5. Who will rule House Stark and the North? This one seems easy: Sansa, who already has the backing of some of the lords. Also, selling the unification of the North and Dany’s team might be a bit easier if/when Jon — who the Stark bannerman like and respect — is revealed to be the Iron Throne heir. One figures they’d be more likely to rally behind a Northern-raised Stark ward with an Iron Throne claim than a “foreigner” like Daenerys.
6. How will Cersei react to all of this? Presumably, it won’t change her feelings one bit — they’re all traitors in her eyes. Even her own brothers.

7. And most pressing of all: How are we going to wait a year or even more for the final season?
* Confusing matters is the fact that Rhaegar had another son named Aegon with his previous wife Elia Martell. The infant Aegon, their other child, and Elia were all killed by Ser Gregor “The Mountain” Clegan during Robert’s Rebellion. These were the deaths that Prince Oberyn Martell was set on avenging during his all-too-brief time at King’s Landing before he was killed during a trial by combat.

Recap Of Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 7: 'The Dragon and the Wolf'

Wow. A Game of Thrones season characterized by a blazingly fast pace and staggering action sequences closed with an extra-long episode that absolutely riveted by hitting the brakes. So much happened in “The Dragon and the Wolf” that set the stage for a climactic final act. There were tense first-time meetings, exciting reunions, alliances that were made, alliances that were broken, a major character who was executed, a forbidden love that was kindled, and the giant ice Wall came a-tumbling down. Yet the 80-minute episode’s contemplative tone and masterful direction by Jeremy Podeswa gave every scene plenty of breathing room. This was a return to the very basics of drama — great writing, acting and direction — and was the best episode of the season.
We begin, for the last time this year, at…

King’s Landing: An enemy at the gates. Dany’s Unsullied and Dotharki armies represent order and chaos. Cersei readies for the big meeting and tells The Mountain she wants him to kill Daenerys, then Tyrion, and then Jon Snow if anything goes wrong. She never wants to miss an opportunity for vengeance — even if she’s dead.
On the way to the Dragonpit, Brienne and The Hound meet on the Kingsroad and have a fun exchange, bonding over their mutual respect for Arya. “I thought you were dead,” she says. With this, I just now realized that both The Hound and The Mountain were in fights that left others thinking they died, and yet both managed to come back.

They enter the massive Dragonpit, which was once an area that the Targaryens used to house their dragons. The sequence was shot at the ancient ruins of a Roman gladiatorial amphitheater outside Seville, Spain. Most of what you’re seeing here is an actual historic site dating back to the fourth century BC — not set dressing or special effects.
As they gather, The Hound goes up to his brother, who’s sporting menacing new black-and-silver armor. He looks a bit like Darth Mountain.  The Hound stares at him dead in his nearly dead eyes. We might not get the Cleganebowl in this season, but it sounds like it will happen. “You know whose coming for you brother…you’ve always known,” The Hound promises.
The representatives for the Starks, Lannisters, and Greyjoys take their seats. The setting for this incredible gathering of characters is both grandiose in its surroundings and yet strikingly sparse given the bare platform the actors are seated on— they’re just in chairs on a wide-open surface, like this is a minimalist stage play. And that’s perfect. Because these characters loom so large, and each has so much backstory, and they have tangled histories with each other, and there are so many of them up there, it’s almost an overwhelming scene. There’s so much going on that the producers stripped the environment to a near-blank space that keeps our focus entirely on the actors. It’s like a reflection of the “back to basics” style of the episode as a whole.

Cersei — like everybody who saw HBO’s finale preview and photos — wants to know where Daenerys is. She’s not used to waiting for anybody. She’s the queen! She glances over at Brienne like, Oh yeah, you, I remember you.
And oh, she’s coming. Dany learned this season about the persuasive power of showing off her dragons in person. So the Breaker of Chains rolls up to this Westeros prom in the sweetest ride of them all, buzzing the canopy and landing atop the ruins. Cersei looks at Drogon: Stupid dragon. If this meeting were televised in Westeros, viewers would be making “Cersei Lannister is not impressed” memes.

GAME OF THRONES JUST LOST ONE OF ITS BEST CHARACTER AND THE INTERNET CAN'T JUST GET OVER IT

Game of Thrones just pulled off one of its most impressive bait-and-switches yet. The last few episodes laid on the awkward tension between Arya and Sansa thick, encouraging audiences to believe one would kill the other. But in tonight's Season 7 finale, Sansa led Littlefinger to believe she was about to execute Arya, before turning the charges of murder and treason on Baelish. As Littlefinger begged Sansa to spare his life, Bran provided evidence that he conspired to kill Ned. With a dramatic flourish, Arya cut Littlefinger's throat with the very knife he set on Bran seven seasons ago. It was one of the show's most satisfying deaths to date.

Here's what Twitter had to say about the scene:

Littlefinger never saw it coming:

When you realize that you're actually the one who has been being conned the whole time:

Bran had the receipts:

The Stark siblings did it TOGETHER:

Fans will never get over it:

almost nothing has been as satisfying as watching Littlefinger on his knees, begging for his life

I'm sorry, but the best scene of the entire episode was the Stark kids triple teaming Little Finger..

Westeros might be screwed but at least we don't have to see Little Finger's lying face again

It was a truly meme-worthy occasion:

Also, lol @ this guy:

By far the  finale MVP is this Winterfell soldier who turns his whole body in shock

RIP. But not really.
