Simone Biles Responds To Drug-Testing Leak After World Anti-Doping Agency Database Has Been Hacked

Simone Biles has spoken out after Russian hackers broke into a World Anti-Doping Agency database and leaked her confidential medical data.
The hackers, who go by the name Fancy Bear, revealed records for “Therapeutic Use Exemptions,” which allow athletes to use banned substances for valid medical reasons. According to ABC News, the leaked documents showed that Biles has tested positive for the ADHD drug methylphenidate (commonly know as Ritalin), but it wasn’t illegal because the International Gymnastics Federation approved her use of the medication.

The gymnast, who took home five medals (including four golds) at the Rio Olympics, addressed the situation on Twitter on Tuesday, September 13, by opening up about her condition. “I have ADHD and I have taken medicine for it since I was a kid,” she wrote. "Please know, I believe in clean sport, have always followed the rules, and will continue to do so as fair play is critical to sport and is very important to me.”
She added in a follow-up tweet, “Having ADHD, and taking medicine for it is nothing to be ashamed of nothing that I’m afraid to let people know.”
USA Gymnastics also issued a statement on Twitter, confirming that the gymnast didn’t break any rules. “In keeping with official protocols of the U.S. Anti-Doping Association and WADA, Biles submitted and was approved for a therapeutic-use exemption (TUE), the proper paperwork for any medications that an athlete takes for an illness or condition that requires the use of a medication included on the WADA Prohibited Drug List, for prescribed medication(s) she takes,” the statement said. “By virtue of the TUE, Biles has not broken any drug-testing regulations, including at the Olympic Games in Rio."
Other athletes targeted in the hack include tennis players Serena and Venus Williams and basketball player Elena Delle Donne

19-year-old Simone Biles proved to the world that she's one of the greatest gymnasts to ever live with a magical week in Rio de Janeiro, winning four Olympic gold medals and a bronze in one of the most dominant performances of all time.

Biles quickly became one of the most popular athletes in the country, and her biggest fan might just be one of Hollywood's biggest stars. Both Biles and actor Channing Tatum were guests on the same episode ofEllen, and Tatum was freaking out at the prospect of meeting Biles.
"Tatum: I did not meet her back there yet, no, but I want to. I'm gonna freak out.
Ellen: She's going to freak out to meet you
Tatum: Yeah... I'm going to freak out more, I bet."
Tatum eventually appeared from behind a curtain holding medals like he was Bryce Harper.

WATCH Video of Simone Biles Tumbling in Heels at VMAs - Mistakes Bring Out The Best Out All Of Us

The anti-gravitational force that is Simone Biles had an ever-so-brief encounter with human error at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

Biles wore heels, a mistake that we as pedestrians who struggle to balance on the sidewalk, let alone on an elevated balance beam with a width of four inches, have made on one too many occasions; but she was presenting an award to BeyoncĂ©, so the evening called for death traps of the stiletto variety.
A fan caught video of Biles as she slipped down the steps and it was posted on TMZ. She’s fine (duh), but with the blessing of YoncĂ©, she will persevere and conquer.

Team USA Just Chose Simone Biles To Lead Them At The Closing Ceremony Of Rio Olympics

Team USA Gymnast/Actual Superwoman Simone Biles has been chosen by her teammates to carry the flag during the Closing Ceremonies on Sunday evening.
The U.S. Olympic Committee announced Saturday morning that the 19-year-old, who won four gold medals at the games (and is the first American to ever to so!), will lead Team USA as they close out the Rio Olympics.
"It's an incredible honor to be selected as the flag bearer by my Team USA teammates," Simone said. "This experience has been the dream of a lifetime for me and my team and I consider it a privilege to represent my country, the United States Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics by carrying our flag. I also wish to thank the city of Rio de Janeiro, and the entire country of Brazil, for hosting an incredible Games."
Hooray! I'm so excited to see our lady Simone close out the Olympics in style, but also sad that they're over! I guess I just have to go back to not caring about sports for another four years, I guess!? (But I'm also a little happy that the Olympics are over because I can't take this level of stress much longer. I *literally* ripped out a chunk of my hair during the women's floor finals, and so I think I need to take several valium and sit in a dark room for a week to come down.)
Update 8/20/16 1PM: Simone just invited her celeb crush Zac Efron via Twitter. Come thru, Zac!
