The Bald and Bad Challenge on Twitter: A Collection Of The Best Short Hair Inspiration

Social media has brought us many beauty challenges: 100 layers of highlighter, Cheetos hair curlers, and questionable uses for your food—to name a few. And while we’ve been very entertained by all of the above, it’s even better when a challenge manages to add an element that’s truly empowering. That’s why we were so excited to see the latest hashtag sweeping Twitter.

Like the 100 layers challenge, it’s having no problem drawing tons of followers. But unlike the former, it’s not quite aiming for shock value. Instead, the #BaldAndBadChallenge aims to celebrate women who rock their short hair—in every length between bald heads and pixie crops.
The main reason this hashtag makes us so happy? It’s high time we stopped adhering to one standard of how hair “should” look and started embracing individuality. At this week’s Victoria’s Secret show taping, we witnessed this firsthand. Typically, the evening is known for a single, uniform look (long, loose curls), but models like Jourdana Phillips and Maria Borges strode down the runway in their natural hair and big smiles.
This new Twitter challenge echoes that sentiment exactly. Don’t get us wrong: We love the freedom of being able to switch up your hairstyle with wigs and extensions. But, this challenge is proof that every length of hair—including no length at all—is beautiful. And we’re always all for that.

Ladies, keep killing it. We love the energy you're putting out there.
