home Remedies for curing Hair Fungus

Infections caused by fungus can happen from time to time. It’s not limited to your kitchen space alone but it can also affect your body too. When it strikes, you are sure to feel uncomfortable especially when there is itching and pain to deal with. You might be surprised but hair fungus can also occur especially when your scalp is filled with oil, dead cells, and even pollutants which make it the perfect breeding ground for fungi. You shouldn’t be surprised to find ringworm on your scalp when you don’t protect your hair. When fungi appear on your scalp, it can become quite itchy, flaky, and even dry too. So how will you be able to remedy this problem?

Neem Oil

Neem Oil is a common component in many Ayurvedic treatments and one of its uses is to treat hair fungus. In this recipe, you will need 2 to 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and a teaspoon of neem oil. You will need to combine the oils together before applying on your hair and scalp. Let it sit overnight. You can cover your hair with a shower cap so as not to stain your pillows. Rinse hair in the morning. This treatment should be done once every 3 days until the hair fungus disappears. Neem oil is known for its antimicrobial properties so this is a useful treatment for removing fungal infections.

Apple Cider Vinegar

What’s great about apple cider vinegar is that it contains antiseptic, anti-inflammatories, and antimicrobial properties that can help treat hair fungus. ACV can regulate the pH levels of your scalp so that there will be less oil being produced. You can mix some rosemary, green tea, fresh lemon juice, as well as apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle and shake until the ingredients have combined completely. Spray this solution on your scalp and let it soak for 40 minutes. Rinse your hair afterwards. You can repeat this treatment several times in a week until you have treated your scalp completely.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is recommended for treating hair fungus as it contains antifungal properties that can easily eliminate the fungal growth on your scalp. It also conditions the skin so this is another plus when using this product. All you will need is castor oil and cotton ball to apply the oil on the affected area. Use gloves when applying this product on the infected area so as not to spread the infection on other parts of your body. Leave the oil on the infection for an hour before rinsing your hair thoroughly. Use a blow dryer to dry your hair afterwards to prevent the fungus from spreading.
These home remedies can easily eliminate the problem with regular use. What’s great about these remedies is that they are all safe to use so you can use them any time you want without worrying about any side effects.

5 Top Uses of Coconut Oil for Your beautiful Hair

Coconut oil is filled with fatty acids that helps moisturize and nourish your scalp and hair. A study which was published in the “Journal of Cosmetic Science” in 1999, reported that coconut oil applied to the hair reduced hair breakage. Another study in 2005 by the Journal of Cosmetic Science reported that coconut oil penetrated the hair follicle much better as compared to the most common ingredient in hair conditioners, mineral oil.

Below are 5 reasons to start putting coconut oil in your hair:

Benefits of Coconut Oil on Hair:

1. Dandruff Prevention

Coconut oil contains various fatty acids and serve as good anti-dandruff agents, and are much better than any anti-dandruff shampoo. Regular application of coconut oil can help to get rid of dandruff.

Hot to Use:
1. When combined with warm water and castor oil it can also be effective in treating dandruff. You can massage your scalp and hair using this mixture.
2, Another dandruff remedy can be prepared by combining sesame oil and coconut oil. Apply the mixture for 30 minutes and then shampoo your hair.

2. Hair Growth

Coconut oil is an effective, and reasonably priced solution for thinning hair. It can help grow the hair, thicker and longer. The essential nutrients including the lauric acid, penetrates the hair shaft, thus improving the overall health of the hair.
The health of the hair is often a result of internal issues, and using natural hair loss remedies will help. Also, foods that are high in pumpkin, Omega-3 fats, flax seeds, chia seeds and green tea, all help support healthy hair growth.
How to Use:
1. Massage the coconut oil into your scalp using gentle pressure for 10 minutes.
2. Do this 3-4 times per week.
Notes:
If you want to focus on hair growth, you will only need 1 teaspoon.

3. Lice Protection

Lice are a very common pest that are found in the hair. These lice also have a tendency to come back again.
There are many chemical products that are available for the treatment of lice, but unfortunately, some can also cause damage on your scalp and hair due to their strong chemical components.
Hot to Use:
1. You can coat your comb with coconut oil for an effective remedy to remove lice. It becomes much easier to comb and remove the lice, using this remedy.

4. Styling Hair

Coconut oil is a great styling agent, and most importantly it is free from the dangerous chemicals in conventional hair care products. This is one of the most overlooked uses of coconut oil for hair.
Flat iron, hair dryers, curling irons and hot rollers, removed the moisture out of your hair shaft, causing it to be brittle and prone to tangling. Coconut oil helps in preventing this type of thermal damage.
People who have thick curly hair often fight frizz in humid climates. Coconut oil can help in taming your frizz, by penetrating into the curls. It can be applied through the day for touch-ups, but just make sure to use it sparingly.
Hot to Use:
1. Apply coconut oil,, using 1/4 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon, depending on your hair.
2. Smooth from root to tips.
3. Blow dry.
4. Style as desired.

5. Sun Damage Protection

Coconut oil can be an excellent all natural sunscreen. In the morning, apply coconut oil to help protect your hair by following these simple steps:
How to Use:
1. Add a small amount of coconut oil into the smaller of bowl. Set the smaller bowl in the bottom of the larger one.
2. Fill the larger bowl with hot water, so the smaller bowl is partially submerged.
3. Let the coconut oil come to temperature, so it is completely melted.
4. Gently massage the oil into your hair, using your fingers.
5. Brush and style as usual.

Hair Color Concepts for Long Haired Women in 2018

We are all looking forward to changing something in our look every time the New Year rolls in. And in 2018, there are still a lot of women who would like to try something new when it comes to their hair. You’ve probably been looking at fashion shows to see models sporting new hairstyles and hair color and are wondering which one to try out this year. Well, there are quite a lot of options for you to choose from especially when you have long hair and for sure, you will love these new hair trends for 2018.

Salt and pepper hair

Noticed that your hair is starting to become grey already? Well, you can turn it to your advantage by transforming your hair into salt and pepper. This combination is actually easy to pull off with your long hair by dyeing parts of your hair in black and white or grey. The changing colors will give your hair that extra beauty especially when you tie in your hair in a braid.

Contrasting roots

If you don’t want to worry about maintaining your hair color then try soft contrasting roots. For example, if you are switching from brunette to blonde, go for the soft brown roots and baby hairs and leaving the color of your eyebrows alone too. This gives a softer look to your hair and will reduce the need for maintenance as you grow it out.

Tiger eye

Another hair color idea to try out with your long hair is the tiger eye. What’s great about this look is that it combines honey, soft brown, and amber in a balayage technique that boosts one’s overall confidence. The beautiful combination will not make it hard for you to grow your hair longer and it will not require much maintenance too. Harsh roots won’t be a problem too when you opt for this hair color combination.

Beige

If you want a subtle shade that will go well with your skin tone then why not try beige? Instead of the usual blonde that many women love to change their hair to, opt for the softer and lighter shade of blonde. Just make sure that it is close to your skin tone to get the dramatic effect that you’re looking for.

Chocolate mauve

Who would have thought that the combination of brown and light pink is going to be stunning? If you are a brunette who would like to change up your hair color then this is worth a shot. The light pink gives a different kind of highlight to your hair and will work beautifully for those with long locks. Just make sure that they are done properly to get the most out of this color combination.

Peanut butter and jelly

Yes, your favorite sandwich combination can also be used on your hair. What’s great about this hair color idea is that it this two-tone look combines golden brown with shades of purple. You’ll see that your hair resembles that of peanut butter and jelly with every toss of your head.

Nude hair

It’s nice to give your hair a makeover for 2018 but if you don’t want to be bothered with maintenance then nude hair is worth a shot. The goal of this hair color is to be soft and natural to complement your skin tone. This is actually a good shade if you are aiming for something subtle but would still look good on you.
These hair color ideas are just perfect for those who want or need a change this new year. If you want to get the most of these shades, have a professional do your hair for you.

What Treat Your Hair Need Immediately After a Workout

When you work out, sweat seeps into your hair, and can make it look greasy and dirty. That's no big deal when you're headed home for the evening. If your day isn't over yet, find ways to make your locks look fresh. A shower and shampoo is the best post-workout cleanup, but you can wipe away the sweat without lathering up. Dry shampoo, astringent hair tonics and a blow dryer help to degrease your tresses without the suds.

Step 1

Rinse your hair under warm water if you have time to shampoo in the shower. Lather a nickel-sized amount of shampoo between your hands, then massage it into your hair from the roots to the ends. Pay particular attention to areas where sweat collects, such as around your hairline and at the nape of your neck. Rinse thoroughly.

Step 2

Spritz your hair with an astringent hair tonic if you have time to shower but don't want to get your locks wet. Allow the steam and heat in the shower to help the tonic penetrate your hair, without the need for rinsing. The tonic works by breaking down excess sebum and sweat without water. Opt for a tonic that contains peppermint or tea tree oil -- they're potent astringents that also have a nice scent. Once you're done in the shower, blow-dry your hair until it's completely dry, then curl, iron or style as usual.

Step 3

Spray your hair with a dry shampoo if you can't get in the shower. Shake a can of dry shampoo a few times, then hold it about 10 inches away from your head. Slowly move the can back and forth as you spray the shampoo on the roots. Don't use too much product in one spot; if you see a buildup of white powder, you've used too much. Wait a few minutes, then brush the powder through your hair to help it soak up oil and dirt from your scalp. Check for remaining white residue and brush it out. If any spots still feel oily, add a bit more shampoo and brush it in.

Step 4

Use a blow dryer to refresh your hair if you can't shampoo. After working out, direct the warm air at the nape of your neck, then move it around your hairline for three to five minutes to dry up sweat. Rub a few drops of silicone styling serum or cream into the hair that frames your face, then aim the warm air at those strands to ease frizz and give hair luster.

Why Tangerine Hair is The Best For The Summer

If there's any "best" season to change your hair, it's probably summer. Hotter temperatures might mean shedding some inches, and all those bright, sunny days could mean asking for highlights or going totally lighter. But if a new tangerine hair trend has anything to say about it, you're going to go boldly toward bright highlight territory.

Tangerine hair, an almost-neon orange that can be mixed with a little blonde or red, isn't as strange as it might sound. It's basically a more saturated version of "blorange" hair. Lady Gaga has a softer version of it right now. David Bowie rocked the shade often. And for the sci-fi fans out there, who can forget Leeloo in The Fifth Element's iconic beauty look:

You don't even need to cover your whole head in the color:
It seems like if you're looking for a new boldly beautiful hair color, go straight to the citrus aisle for inspiration.

How Often Should BlacK Men Shampoo Their Hair

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MEN OF COLOR WASH THEIR HAIR?
It’s pretty obvious to most people that black men’s hair is different, both in look and feel. It should then come as no surprise that our hair care should be different as well. Let’s take a look at the reasons.

IT’S DRY

We’ve all heard that black hair in general is dryer than other hair, but why? This is mostly because of the curls in our hair. The natural oils that are in everyone’s scalps travel down straight hair much more easily than curly hair. This alone makes black hair more dry and subject to breakage/loss. The natural oil just doesn’t get to most of our hair.

There’s nothing that can be done about this since the curliness of our hair is determined by the bulb shape of the hair follicle, which is determined genetically. Hooked bulbs cause curly hair, round bulbs cause straight hair.

WASHING

Due to the unique nature of black hair, we men must be more conscious about the drying effects of most shampoos. Shampoos tend to contain chemicals that strip the existing oils off of your hair, which may be fine for straight hair, but can be overly damaging to curly hair, which doesn’t replace the oils as easily.

While you’ll need to take into account how curly your hair is, generally washing 1 – 2 times a week achieves the desired cleaning effect without overly drying out our hair. It is also ok to condition hair daily.

With this knowledge and these tips you should be set to get the look you want without any troubles.

The Bald and Bad Challenge on Twitter: A Collection Of The Best Short Hair Inspiration

Social media has brought us many beauty challenges: 100 layers of highlighter, Cheetos hair curlers, and questionable uses for your food—to name a few. And while we’ve been very entertained by all of the above, it’s even better when a challenge manages to add an element that’s truly empowering. That’s why we were so excited to see the latest hashtag sweeping Twitter.

Like the 100 layers challenge, it’s having no problem drawing tons of followers. But unlike the former, it’s not quite aiming for shock value. Instead, the #BaldAndBadChallenge aims to celebrate women who rock their short hair—in every length between bald heads and pixie crops.
The main reason this hashtag makes us so happy? It’s high time we stopped adhering to one standard of how hair “should” look and started embracing individuality. At this week’s Victoria’s Secret show taping, we witnessed this firsthand. Typically, the evening is known for a single, uniform look (long, loose curls), but models like Jourdana Phillips and Maria Borges strode down the runway in their natural hair and big smiles.
This new Twitter challenge echoes that sentiment exactly. Don’t get us wrong: We love the freedom of being able to switch up your hairstyle with wigs and extensions. But, this challenge is proof that every length of hair—including no length at all—is beautiful. And we’re always all for that.

Ladies, keep killing it. We love the energy you're putting out there.
