6 Beauty Hacks for Oily Skin

It is said that having oily skin is actually good as it keeps signs of premature aging at bay, but when your skin is producing too much oil, you might end up with too shiny a face that makes you look greasy and unkempt. What’s more, too much oil production can leave you susceptible to whiteheads, blackheads, and other skin blemishes because your pores are too large. Fortunately, there are several beauty tricks that you can use to address your oily skin easily.

Lemon and honey

If you want to bring back the natural glow of your skin and not just because it is too oily, then you will need some lemon and honey to help you out. Mix 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 teaspoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice then dip a cotton ball into the mix and apply on your face and neck. Massage the mixture onto your skin for 3 to 4 minutes then wash it off afterwards with lukewarm water. Lemon can help brighten your skin and get rid of any buildup in your pores while honey can fight off bacteria.

Always wear sunscreen

Just because you have oily skin, it doesn’t mean that you should forego wearing sunscreen. Without proper protection against the sun, you are leaving your skin prone to spots, dry skin, and even premature aging too. Choose a sunscreen that has enough SPF in it to keep the sun’s rays from damaging your skin.

Do the ice cube facial

Like it was mentioned before, those with oily skin tend to have overly large pores that can actually make the skin appear dry and rough. A good remedy for this is to wrap two to three ice cubes in a muslin cloth and rub it on your freshly washed face for 2 to 3 minutes. Focus more on areas of your face that tend to shine often. The cold temperature of the ice cubes can actually reduce the size of the pores, reduce the swelling and redness of acne, and can actually rejuvenate your skin too.

Do not forget your moisturizer

Another beauty trick that you need to follow at all times is to use a moisturizer on your skin. Even when you hav oily skin, your skin still needs moisture to retain its youthful glow. Without enough moisture, your skin will be producing more oil to compensate for it. Choose a moisturizer that will not leave your skin feeling greasy while delivering the much needed moisture to your parched skin.

Apple cider vinegar and cucumber

You can also make an apple cider vinegar and cucumber toner to deal with oily skin. ACV acts as an oil-controlling and skin firming toner while the juice from the cucumber can hydrate and soothe your skin. To make your own toner, you will need to mix 3 tablespoons of cucumber juice with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Soak a cotton ball in this solution and wipe it on your face. Leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes then wash it off with cool water.

Exfoliate your skin

It is also important that you exfoliate your skin once a week. This can help remove buildup of dead skin cells while boosting the appearance of new and healthy cells on your skin. You can make your own exfoliating scrub using natural ingredients like sugar and honey which can have different skin benefits.
Having oily skin may be a source of embarrassment to you but the good news is that you can treat it easily enough with the tricks mentioned above. It’s all just a matter of finding the best routine to follow to minimize the oil your skin is producing.

Stop Your Lazy Thinking With These 5 Tips and Start Making Great Decisions

The number of decisions we make and the complexity of the problems we solve sometimes exceeds the brain’s capacity. To respond faster and more efficiently to the multiple demands of daily life without having to reinvent the wheel, our brains streamline the decision-making process. How? By creating shortcuts. Called heuristics, these shortcuts actually are overlearned ways of choosing and using information. Heuristics help you make snap judgments. But what you save in time, you lose in accuracy. If your heuristics are flawed, your snap judgments will be, too.

Scientists have identified approximately 100 of these flawed heuristics and refer to them as cognitive biases. Unfortunately, these biases lead to haphazard fact-finding, shallow processing and hasty conclusions. They make you believe things that aren’t true and ignore things that are. Essentially, they're turning you into a lazy thinker.

Your biases and lazy thinking can have profound effects on the decisions you make, the actions you take and the results you obtain. You can train train yourself to avoid five of the most common cognitive biases. Here's how.

1. Question your beliefs.
When you accept ideas as logical and true because they sound believable, you commit belief bias. The more consistent with your beliefs an idea sounds, the less likely you are to look for proof. Strong, unchallenged beliefs determine which actions you will or won’t take to achieve your goals. For example, if you believe that most small businesses fail, you're unlikely to start one of your own. If you believe your product isn't worth paying for, you'll never make it available for sale. And if you believe your message isn't powerful or important enough, you'll never share it.
Ask: Which facts support your own beliefs?

2. Look for facts that disprove your point.
We like to be right. And to protect our desire to be right, we search for evidence that supports our ideas and ignore evidence that contradicts them. This is confirmation bias, and while it's a more scientific way of thinking than belief bias, it's still cheating. Your biased sampling makes you think you are right even when you are wrong. If you think your new assistant is incompetent, you'll keep looking for mistakes and problems. When performance-evaluation time rolls around, your data is a laundry list of shortcomings. So of course you believe you were right all along. Being willing to collect evidence that disproves your point not only helps you anticipate problems but also makes your point stronger.

Ask: What evidence are you collecting to disprove your point?

3. Estimate the odds of success.
Everyone can rattle off a factoid or two, but few people fully comprehend statistics -- and even fewer use them to make decisions. When you choose your course based on a specific event without considering that event's true probability, you're showing another bias: base rate neglect. Base rate is how often something occurs in a population, such as divorce rates, crime rates and college graduation rates.

Base rate neglect sidetracks you with glowing testimonials and makes you forget about what is statistically possible. If you're thinking about starting your own business but want to get an MBA first, it would help you to know the percentage of successful small-business owners who have an MBA. In a similar vein, if you were tempted to register for a program that promises to make you a millionaire, you'd want to research further than the quotes on the group's website.

Ask: What else do I need to know?

4. Consider you might be wrong.
Did you know ahead of time which team would win the World Series last year? How about which movie would get the Oscar? Which stocks would plummet in January? If you said yes to any of these questions, you're demonstrating hindsight bias. You claim you knew what was going to happen, but you make that claim after the event already has occurred. What's more, you believe it.

Hindsight bias gets even more twisted. Research shows people misremember their own predictions.

Let’s play for a moment: Without consulting Google or Siri or Cortana, do you know how old Mother Teresa was when she died? Take a guess and say the answer to yourself. If I called you a month from now to follow up, many of you would say you chose a number much closer to the correct answer than the true age you whispered just now. The most serious problem with hindsight bias is you fail to learn from your mistakes. And it's understandable, since this bias makes you forget you made any.

Ask: What have you been wrong about in the past?

5. Learn when to follow emotion and when to ignore it.
Could you make good decisions without your emotions? Probably, but in some cases it would require more work and take a lot longer. Emotions send quick, straightforward messages to the decision-making part of the brain, which in turn determines what to do with all that information. When emotion-laden messages are too loud, they influence your decisions. That's visceral bias.

Your feelings in the moment can distort your objectivity and influence how you judge a person or a situation. Positive emotions could make you overestimate your abilities, underestimate the risks, exaggerate potential gains and shift your priorities. Things that make us feel good seem more important, necessary or valuable. People who make us feel good seem more helpful and genuine. On the flip side, negative emotions could make you underestimate your abilities, overestimate the risks, exaggerate the consequences and ignore your priorities. We judge things that make us feel bad as unimportant, unnecessary or worthless.

7 Careers Where Women Make More Money Than Men

It's a sad fact that women on average earn just 77 cents for every dollar their male peers take home. But in at least these seven career fields, according to recently released government data, women make more money than men.

The U.S. Census Bureau analyzed salary data from 2014 for working men and women in more than 550 career fields, finding just seven in which women out-earn men. In three fields—including industrial truck and tractor operators, computer and office machine repairers, and biological scientists—women were paid as well as their male peers, leaving more than 500 careers in which women earn significantly less than men.

Here, according to the Bureau, are the careers in which women earn more than men:
1. Tour and travel guides: Women earn 114.8 percent of what their male peers make.
2. Musicians, singers, and related workers: Women earn 107.6 percent of what their male peers make.
3. Transportation, storage, and distribution managers: Women earn 107.1 percent of what their male peers make.
4. Dietitians and nutritionists: Women earn 105.7 percent of what their male peers make.
5. Residential advisors: Women earn 100.8 percent of what their male peers make.
6. Wholesale and retail buyers, except farm products: Women earn 100.6 percent of what their male peers make.
7. Counselors: Women earn 100.5 percent of what their male peers make.
As for those 500-plus careers in which women's pay lags sadly behind, these seven career fields have the furthest to go to reach pay equality, the statistics show:
1. Financial Specialists: Women earn just 53.7 percent of what their male peers make.
2. Aircraft mechanics and service technicians: Women earn just 56 percent of what their male peers make.
3. Securities, commodities, and financial services sales agents: Women earn just 57 percent of what their male peers make.
4. Jewelers and precious stone and metal workers: Women earn just 57.4 percent of what their male peers make.
5. Photographic process workers and processing machine operators: Women earn just 58.3 percent of what their male peers make.
6. Financial clerks: Women earn just 61.1 percent of what their male peers make.
7. Personal financial advisers: Women earn just 63.1 percent of what their male peers make.

HERE ARE 13 HACKS YOU NEED TO TRANSFORM YOU FROM A NICE GUY INTO A REAL MAN

After a certain age, the nice guy act will start to get old. Shed the shy guy shell and face the dating world with the confidence of a real man!

John Travolta might have just been playing a part in the final scenes of Grease, when the protagonist throws aside his preppy clothes and reverts to the bad boy he’s always been in order to get the girl, but there is more than just an element of truth in this. The fact is, although you will hear numerous conversations between women about how they really wish they could find a ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ to take care of them, that the ladies, at heart, love a real man.
That Hugh Grant vulnerability thing only works in the movies. But what does it actually mean to be a real man and, if you’re already a nice guy, what changes do you need to make to assist the transition from one to the other?
The differences between a nice guy and real man
As a broad guide, much of the difference between a nice guy and a real man comes down to confidence and how that confidence expresses itself in both physical and psychological terms. There is something very attractive about someone who is self-assured enough to be unconcerned with trivialities, and has that air of indifferent positivity about them – which is as true for women as it is for men.
Nice guys often internalize emotions and feelings, so that others don’t have to suffer them, but these feelings often find other ways of revealing themselves unattractively.
Often they will occur as slightly feminine traits or even in a manner that is damaging to themselves and the perception that others have of them.
Real men, on the other hand, are in control of their feelings and allow them to be externalized in a healthy and measured way. Working on this balance between confidence and externalization is the key to becoming the real man of every woman’s dreams.
What does it take to change from a nice guy to a real man?
Are you a nice guy who would like to evolve into a real man? Here are some ways you can change your cutesy boy next door aura to that of a dapper, sophisticated real man.
#1 Taking charge. One of the biggest things that nice guys get wrong is in choosing to let the lady make all the decisions. He believes that he’s being gentlemanly and courteous by letting her take the lead, but in actual fact, it just looks weak and indecisive.
So, take charge chaps! You decide where to meet, you decide whether to go buffet or a-la-carte, and you decide when and where to meet next. Let her know that she is in the presence of an alpha male and a suitable life-long partner.
#2 Listen. Taking a genuine interest in what the lady is saying is so important. It lets her feel important, and it gives you time to think about what you’re going to say or do next. Most importantly, it shows that you’re confident enough to take on board what others have to say. Of course, don’t be afraid to speak your mind either, which is another sign that you are confident and manly.
#3 Speak out. A real man doesn’t feel the need to agree with everyone to keep them sweet. The nice guy wants everything to passively swim along, but by bottling up his opinions, he is in danger of letting them loose in a tirade somewhere down the line. A real man doesn’t worry about disagreeing with others. But when he does, he forms an argument in a measured and constructive way, never making a fuss or losing his temper.
#4 Moaning. Don’t do it! Many nice guys have a dreadful habit of complaining about aches and pains, or about how unfair their boss is, or how the next-door-neighbor’s dog keeps them awake at night, or how nobody really understands them, and so on and so forth.
Seriously guys, you’re not being nice – you’re being an utter drip. She’s going to walk away feeling like she’s just been on a date with a teenage girl rather than an adult man. Keep it to yourself!
#5 Be a rock. A real man is emotionally stable at all times, quite a different thing from being emotional, which is the hallmark of a nice guy. Nice guys gush and cry and sulk and seek approval. Real men do not. They don’t let the behavior or attitude of other people rattle them in the slightest, and they take it all on the chin.
They are gregarious types, but they never desperately chase attention or approval, and always give equal time to every part of their lives. This is quite unlike the nice guy who will drop everything else when they meet the woman of their dreams to the point of ruining the rest of their lives, and coming across as something of a stalker.
Jealousy is also a big no-no for the real man who is confident enough is his level of attraction and interest, that he has no issues letting his woman spend time in the company of other men.
#6 When to say you’re sorry. Nice guys say sorry all the time. They say sorry for sitting too close or too far away. They say sorry when they go to the rest-room. They say sorry when they sit down again. They seem to say sorry for the inconvenience of blighting the universe with their existence which, needless to say, doesn’t look very manly or confident.
However, the one thing he doesn’t do is say sorry when it matters, preferring instead to sulk or moan about the situation. A real man knows and admits when he is wrong or has made a mistake, and will openly and unreservedly apologize for it. But that is the only time you will hear the word pass his lips.
#7 Physical awareness. Of course, looking good is an essential factor in trying to win over the woman of your dreams, but you don’t want to come across as a bit of a princess. Constant self-grooming, looking in mirrors, rearranging your clothes, posing and so on, gives a very bad impression.
Although if asked, most people would point to arrogance as being the cause of such behavior, at a subconscious level the alarm bells will start ringing and your desired other half will be alerted to the fact that you have confidence issues. Keep your hands still, leave your hair alone and divert your focus to more productive areas.
The importance of body language to real men
To finish off, we look at an area of human interaction that is both so important in deciding how you are perceived by others, and yet so often neglected. Whether going on a date or for a job interview, the way you comport yourself tells so much more about you than words ever could.
As a conveyor of first impressions, body language accounts for nearly 100% of everything that will be taken from those few initial moments. So, although there isn’t nearly enough room in this short article to cover all related ground, here are a few tips to help you make your body language a little more articulate.
#1 Sit/stand-up straight or in a confident sprawl and keep strong eye contact.Constantly averting your gaze and turning your body to the side so that you aren’t properly facing the object of your desires stinks of a lack of confidence, and is a real turn off.
#2 Be confident about which greeting you choose to adopt, whether kiss on the cheek, handshake or whatever else. Decide what you’re going to do and execute it with aplomb. There’s nothing worse that someone who changes their mind halfway through a course of action, and it could lead to dangerously crossed wires!
#3 Keep your body movements to a minimum. Make any movements slow and deliberate to give off a huge impression of confidence and manliness. Constant fidgeting and sharp jerky movements do nothing for her perceptions of you.
#4 Be aware of the way you deliver when talking. Similar to the previous point, take your time, think about your response first, then speak in a clear, loud and measured fashion. Squeaking, whispering, mumbling and hurried speech are perceived as very unmanly.
#5 Ease your jitters with your butt. If you suffer badly from nerves and have shaky hands, then tense your buttocks. It sounds like a bizarre thing to say, but it’s almost impossible for your hands to shake when you are doing this. I’ve no idea why but, trust me, it works.
Transforming from a typical nice guy to a real man with the appeal to drive women wild is no easy task. But with these tips and a conscious effort to perfect each little aspect of becoming a real man, you’ll find that you’ll be attracting more mature and like-minded ladies in no time!
