Uncladded man on ATV took the Missouri police on wild, hour-long chase

A naked man was arrested after leading police on a shocking chase down a Missouri interstate on Sunday on an all-terrain vehicle that included driving the wrong way down the highway.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said the bare bandit led authorities on a pursuit along Highways 152 and 210 and Interstate 435 before he was finally caught. The chase lasted over an hour.

"The police activity you’ve been seeing along 152 Hwy, I-435 and now 210 Hwy is all because of a naked man riding a yellow ATV who refused to stop for police," police said on Twitter. "He’s now in custody. No dangerous instruments were found."

Police believe the man, who has not yet been identified, was under the influence of drugs during the chase in northern Kansas City.

The chase began with the man eluding officers in a field. After finding a break in a fence, the man made his way onto Interstate 435, where he occasionally drove into oncoming traffic. He was captured after exiting the interstate.

One witness who was driving on I-435 at the time told IPRESSTV he has seen plenty of high-speed chases, but nothing like what he saw on Sunday.

“I was staring him down like, ‘How are you so calm,” Jess Fishell told IPRESSTV. “It’s 50 degrees, you’re naked going highway speeds and calm as can be.”

At one point during the chase, Fishell said the man pulled a stunt as if he were in the movie “Dukes of Hazard.”

“All the cops come to a screeching halt and they’re all trying to turn around and go this way and that way,” he said.

While the whole bizarre incident may be entertaining to watch, Fishell said the man's behavior was reckless.

“He could’ve killed himself very easily,” he told IPRESSTV. “I hope he gets whatever help he needs.”

Van Drives Into Barcelona Crowd Killing At Least One Person But Police Have Made Arrest

Update: Catalan police say they have arrested one man linked to the Barcelona van attack.

BARCELONA - A van plowed into crowds in the heart of Barcelona on Thursday and Spanish media reported at least 13 people were killed, in what police said they were treating as a terrorist attack.

Police have found a second van connected to the crash in the Catalan town of Vic, local authorities said.

The death toll was reported by Cadena Ser radio, citing police sources. At least one person has been confirmed dead, Catalan police and the regional interior ministry said.

Authorities said they were searching for the driver of the van. According to Spanish newspaper El Periodico, two armed men were holed up in a bar in Barcelona's city center, and reported gunfire in the area, although it did not cite the source of the information. It was not immediately clear whether the incidents were connected.

A source familiar with the initial U.S. government assessment said the incident appeared to be terrorism, and a White House spokeswoman said President Donald Trump was being kept abreast of the situation.

Media reports said the van had zigzagged at speed down the famous Las Ramblas avenue, a magnet for tourists. "I heard screams and a bit of a crash and then I just saw the crowd parting and this van going full pelt down the middle of the Ramblas and I immediately knew that it was a terrorist attack or something like that," eyewitness Tom Gueller told the BBC.

"It wasn't slowing down at all. It was just going straight through the middle of the crowds in the middle of the Ramblas."

Mobile phone footage posted on Twitter showed several bodies strewn along the Ramblas, some motionless. Paramedics and bystanders bent over them, treating them and trying to comfort those still conscious.

Around them, the boulevard was deserted, covered in rubbish and abandoned objects including hats, bags and a pram.

"We saw a white van collide with people. We saw people going flying because of the collision, we also saw three cyclists go flying," Ellen Vercamm, on holiday in Barcelona, told El Pais newspaper.

Emergency services said people should not go to the area around Barcelona's Placa Catalunya, one of the city's main squares at the top of the Ramblas, and requested the closure of nearby train and metro stations. Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said he was in contact with authorities, and the priority was to attend to the injured.

The incident took place at the height of the tourist season in Barcelona, which is one of Europe's top travel destinations with at least 11 million visitors a year. Vehicles have been used to ram into crowds in a series of militant attacks across Europe since July 2016, killing well over 100 people in Nice, Berlin, London and Stockholm.

Witness Ethan Spibey told Britain's Sky News: "All of sudden it was real chaos. People just started running screaming, there were loud bangs. People just started running into shops, there was a kind of mini-stampede where we were, down one of the alleyways."

He said he had taken refuge with dozens of other people in a nearby church. "They've locked the doors because I'm not sure whether the person who may have done it has actually been caught, so they've locked the doors and told people just to wait in here."

Barcelona is the capital of the wealthy northeastern region of Catalonia, which plans to hold a popular vote on Oct. 1 on whether it should secede from Spain. It is in dispute with the central government, which says the vote cannot go ahead because it is unconstitutional.

In recent weeks, threatening graffiti against tourists has appeared in Barcelona. In one video released under the slogan "tourism kills neighborhoods", several hooded individuals stopped a tourist bus in Barcelona, slashed the tyres and spray-painted the windscreen.

The attack was the deadliest in Spain since March 2004, when Islamist militants placed bombs on commuter trains in Madrid, killing 191 people and wounding more than 1,800.

Video Shows a runner shoving a woman into the path of a bus on a London bridge

British police are looking for a runner who knocked a woman into the path of an oncoming bus Friday morning.

The man, described as early to mid 30s with brown eyes and short brown hair, can be seen running into a woman on Putney Bridge in West London in surveillance video released by Metropolitan Police. The 33-year-old woman was then launched into the road in front of an oncoming bus. Video shows the bus swerving to avoid hitting her.

"The victim was put in extreme danger when she was knocked into the road," Sgt. Mat Knowles, investigating officer from the Putney Safer Neighbourhood Team, said in a release. "It was only due to the superb quick reactions of the bus driver that she was not hit by the vehicle."

The man kept running, appearing unfazed. Meanwhile, the bus stopped and passengers checked on the woman who narrowly missed a severe injury, Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Perhaps the most shocking part of the ordeal is that the jogger was spotted back on the bridge 15 minutes later, completing his run.

"The victim tried to speak to him but he did not acknowledge her and carried on jogging," the police statement said.

Metropolitan Police urged anyone with information about the jogger to contact them: @MetCC.

TRAGEDY! 2 killed, 9 injured in a gas explosion that rips through US school

MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - Two people were killed and nine injured on Wednesday (Aug 2) after a gas explosion ripped through a Christian private school in Minneapolis, starting a fire and causing a building to collapse, authorities said.

The body of a school employee who had been missing for most of the day after the 10.20am blast at Minnehaha Academy was recovered at about 8pm, Minneapolis Fire Chief John Fruetel told a news conference.

Chief Fruetel declined to identify either victim pending notification of next of kin.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that the remains removed earlier in the day belonged to Ms Ruth Berg, a 47-year-old receptionist at the school who was engaged to be married.

Family members earlier told local news channel KARE that Mr John Carlson, an 81-year-old custodian, was missing and that no one had been able to reach him.

The nine people who were injured were taken to local hospitals, and one was in critical condition, Chief Fruetel said.

Authorities said there were early indications that a ruptured gas line may have led to the explosion and that it was caused by contractors working at the school.

The academy confirmed on Facebook that there had been a gas leak and explosion at its Upper School.

"This is a day of extraordinary heartbreak in Minneapolis," Mayor Betsy Hodges told the news conference.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said on Twitter its agents, fire investigators and trained canines were at the site of the explosion.

Mr Phillip Day, 41, said he, his wife and their 17-year-old daughter, Chimali, had been at the school meeting with a counsellor to discuss college options when the explosion occurred.

Mr Day said that, as they left a conference room, his daughter was blown back through the door by the force of the blast and his wife was scraped.

Mr Tramon Van Leer, 33, was in the gym at the Minnehaha Academy playing basketball with his stepdaughter and four other girls when they heard the blast.

After they ran outside to safety, Mr Van Leer said he looked back and said: "Wow, the whole section of the school is gone."

According to its website, Minnehaha Academy was founded in 1913 and teaches more than 800 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade on two campuses.

Desperate Dad Took An Overdoses Of heroin To Teach Addict Son A Lesson

A Sheepshead Bay father was so angry when he found his heroin addict son’s stash that he shot it up himself and almost died of an overdose — just to send a message to his kid.

“I told him if you’re not going to stop, I will do the same as you do,” Sergey Gnatovskiy, 45, told The Post. “I [tried] to send him to rehab. He promised me he was going to go, and I found it again.”

But the risky life lesson seems to have worked: Son Maykl, 23, claims he’s been scared straight back to rehab after finding his dad passed out on the floor of their living room Wednesday afternoon.

“After seeing this, I definitely want to go. I’ve been doing this since I was 15. I’m 23 now, I can’t keep doing this,” he said.

Maykl says he instantly recognized that his pop was overdosing, and used CPR and Narcan nasal spray to bring him back from the brink — something Sergey has had to do for his son on four separate occasions.

The elder Gnatovskiy says he felt back to normal the next day and doesn’t recall much of the ordeal — he remembers going to turn off the TV and then waking up with “medical people” around him.

“My son was screaming at me, ‘Pop, Pop, are you crazy, you almost died,’” he said.

Maykl’s mom kicked the boy out of her house over his addiction as a teen, and Sergey has been trying to help him ever since, the father said.

But his boy is in trouble with this apartment complex over a fight with an ex, and now both men are at risk of eviction.

“I’m trying to kick him out of my apartment and into rehab. We’ve been notified of eviction and I need to prove he’s gone by May 31, which was yesterday, or I’m out as well,” Sergey said.

The loving dad, who originally hails from Ukraine, says he’s willing to lose everything to keep his son alive.

New Video Emerges Showing That Putin Saluting A Pigeon is Fake (Watch)

A video purportedly showing a pigeon raising its wing as if it were “saluting” Russian President Vladimir Putin spread on social media on 1 June 2017:

Setting aside the fact that this pigeon most likely does not recognize Vladimir Putin or know how to salute, the winged motion shown in this footage is fake.

In fact, Ruptly TV, RT’s Berlin-based video news agency, posted the original footage YouTube TV along with a message explaining how the pigeon had given Putin the cold shoulder:

Russian President Vladimir Putin was ignored by a humble pigeon, while walking in the grounds of the Rogozhskaya Zastava Spiritual Centre, Moscow, on Wednesday.

As the president greeted the little bird, it simply wandered away from his waving hand.

Santa's Holding A Dying Child Viral Story Is Fake News and Here Is The Proof Internet Presented

One of the mysteries of the internet is that people really enjoy reading and sharing “heartwarming” content about horribly sad things, a genre previously shorthanded as grief porn. The latest entry is a part-time Santa in Tennessee, who claimed to a local newspaper columnist that a very sick little boy recently died in his arms. The story “cannot be verified,” the paper said Wednesday.

Eric Schmitt-Matzen is a mechanical engineer and Santa portrayer, complete with a long and lustrous full-time Santa beard. He told Knoxville News-Sentinel columnist Sam Venable that he was called by a nurse to “a local hospital” several weeks ago to pay a special visit to a terminally ill child. Schmitt-Matzen says he handed the little boy a gift, and that they had a gut-wrenching conversation, just before the boy passed:

“They say I’m gonna die,’ he told me. ‘How can I tell when I get to where I’m going?’

“I said, ‘Can you do me a big favor?’

“He said, ‘Sure!’

“When you get there, you tell ’em you’re Santa’s Number One elf, and I know they’ll let you in.

“He said, ‘They will?’

“I said, ‘Sure!’

“He kinda sat up and gave me a big hug and asked one more question: ‘Santa, can you help me?’

“I wrapped my arms around him. Before I could say anything, he died right there. I let him stay, just kept hugging and holding on to him.

As with any godawful thing that appears superficially moving to the people who didn’t have to witness it, Schmitt-Matzen’s story took off. It was re-told as verifiably true on USA Today, CNN, People, the BBC, the Daily Mail, and the Washington Post, among many, many others.

But on Wednesday, three days after it was published, the News-Sentinel published an update, saying their attempts to verify the story have been “unsuccessful:”

Since publication, the News Sentinel has done additional investigation in an attempt to independently verify Schmitt-Matzen’s account. This has proven unsuccessful. Although facts about his background have checked out, his story of bringing a gift to a dying child remains unverified. The News Sentinel cannot establish that Schmitt-Matzen’s account is inaccurate, but more importantly, ongoing reporting cannot establish that it is accurate.

Snopes has also investigated the story and says they’ve confirmed with two area hospitals that an incident matching that description didn’t happen at their facilities. The Post, whose re-telling of the story was particularly treacly, spoke to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, who also said it didn’t happen there.

The newspaper is indicating that they’re not done checking out the story yet. Schmitt-Matzen defended it as true to the Washington Post: “If some people want to call me a liar... I can handle that better than I can handle a child in my arms dying,” he said. “It’s sticks and stones.”

Whether it’s true or not, it’s certainly remarkable how many interviews he crammed into three days.

Miley Cyrus Family Launch Their Own Reality TV Show

Miley Cyrus’ mom and sister will be stepping into the spotlight next year when they star in a brand new reality television series on Bravo.

The US TV channel has announced that Tish, 49, and Miley’s 29-year-old half-sister Brandi, will appear in an interior design show, which has been given the working title, Cyrus vs Cyrus.

DIY reality programs aren’t exactly a new concept, but as the name of this series suggests, there will be an element of competition in this celebrity version.

Each episode will follow the mother and daughter duo around Nashville as they compete to win over clients with their renovation ideas. The losing designer will have to act as the winner’s assistant when they work together to transform the client’s home. Sounds like reality TV heaven.

"Tish and Brandi have a wonderful, funny, modern mother-daughter relationship which is completely relatable," Lara Spotts, SVP of Development at Bravo, said, before adding that you shouldn’t expect to see too many decorating disasters.

"They are equally talented designers, but with very different aesthetics, and watching them transform one home a week will be almost as entertaining as the antics that ensue along the way."

Production of the series is due to get underway this year before it hits TV screens in 2017. Fingers crossed, Miley makes a cameo.

Donald Trump Was Mocked to His Face Last Night on “Jimmy Fallon” By The Roots

Last night, Donald Trump was a guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The Roots, the “Fallon” house band, play a song to introduce the entrance of every guest on the show. The song they choose for Donald Trump’s entrance was Erykah Badu’s “20 Feet Tall” (fromNew Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh). As Trump entered, the Roots sang the lines “Then you, you built a wall/ A 20-foot wall / So I couldn’t see,” as Think Progress points out. This seemed to mock Trump’s campaign promise to force Mexico to build and pay for an enormous wall along the U.S.’s southern border. Watch the clip below. The Roots begin playing the song around the 11:30 mark.

It isn’t the first time the Roots have introduced a political guest on “Fallon” with a pointed song. In 2011, they played Fishbone’s “Lyin' Ass Bitch” during Michele Bachmann’s appearance. Afterwards, NBC said they would screen the Roots’ song choices.

Yeezy Season 4 — Models Struggle With Their Heels During Event, They Wobble, Ditch Their Shoes (video)

Never has the struggle been more real. At least two models struggled with their heels during Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 4 show at Roosevelt Island on Wednesday, September 7, and their attempt to carry on the show was medal-worthy.

The show, which started more than an hour and a half late, featured a bevy of models clothed in tan and black ensembles strutting their stuff down a white catwalk through the park.

At one point during the production, a model clothed in a black hooded jacket and thigh-high boots almost lost control while attempting to wobble along in her broken heel.

“Something is wrong #YeezySeason 4,” one person tweeted, along with video of the model struggling to take each step. Bruce Pask, the men's fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman, eventually came to her rescue, and helped escort her down the runway.

Model Amina Blue also struggled in her shoes. The blonde attempted to walk for a bit in her heels before she gave up and took them off.

“When you find out you not getting paid for #Yeezyseason4,” a jokester tweeted along with a clip of Blue taking off her shoes midshow, while another added: “The moment Amina Blue gave up #Yeezy.”

The internet's reaction to the wobbling models on Wednesday caused even West’s sister-in-law Kylie Jenner to chime in. “Her heel broke. It's not her fault,” the 19-year-old makeup maven, who attended the event in booty shorts, responded to a viewer on Twitter about the model in the black boots.

For the record, Blue, who also starred in Tyga’s “1 of 1” music video, finished the show, but she came back out in a pair of wobble-free Yeezy sandals.
